I'm happy you doing are doing a story on autism. My son is Aspergers and even he is a very intelligent young man, people have avoided him expecting some of the more extreme autistic behaviors out of him.

Willie J

Awesome job with this.

Cas Wanden

Two autistic characters!! Just a note, most autistic people I've met refer to themselves as "autistic people" rather than "people with autism". Just like you wouldn't say "people with Deafness", it's the same with regards to autism - It's not something we have, it's something we are. ❤️

Erroneous

This has me worried for these kids. I mean, I know they're characters and all, but my experience with Aspergers at that age was....not a good one. Very incompetent teachers AND a parent who seemed to just insist I had an "Attitude problem". (Heck, my father STILL does this.) I just hope they're getting proper assistance instead of the bull I got.

I'm very sorry for any mistreatment you received. We're progressing overall, but not at a rate we can always appreciate. The more we learn, the better we become <3

Flounder

Great to see autistic people in the comic. And kids, at that. :)

Karmakat

all she said is VERY TRUE, even if her last comment was a 'touch mean' hehe. I still LOVE HER )

Christine Tweddle

Love that AJ sees it as something to learn about and something new he knows about his friend (and future friend) not something wrong with them or a reason to avoid them.

I am on the Autism spectrum too, but I have a mild case so I'm not as obvious or always as conscious about it like others could be. I must admit, I too found Kyle annoying because of this, but I have a bit more sympathy now ... after all, what we don't like about others is what we may not like about ourselves, right?
