I'm so annoyed that CR cut OP 8. Not only is it my favorite but it is one of the least spoilery OPs of the show. The most annoying part is the english dub still has it added (yes I am a proud dub enthusiast) so I'm not sure if it's a rights thing or just laziness. Btw the song is Crazy Rainbow by Tackey & Tsubasa

I love how they integrate some of the chapter Color spreads into the openings like at 05:08, 06:12, 06:15 etc At 14:20 too !!

The "quick super-buisy shots" are all adapted from colorspreads (meaning doublespread chapter covers in color) by Oda. There are close to 200 right now and all of them look amazing.

When you said some of the images remind you of the spreads that Toriyama or Araki used, is exactly what it's taken inspiration from :D Oda does cover page requests from fans alot, so many of these were drawn by Oda for the manga chapter covers. (Like the luffy vs franky boxing one, the merry train etc.)

Funnily enough, Crunchyroll actually does have all of the openings for Once Piece, but for some reason only on the English Dub episodes. I have no idea why they skip some openings on the Subbed episodes, but retain them on the Dubbed episodes but they do. Also here’s a fun fact about opening 12. The voice actors for all of the Straw Hats are singing the backing vocals during the song, which is a really nice touch.

I am actually the one who uploaded most of them! A long time ago. I believe 8 was mine, I know the square ending was mine because of the source, and openings 12 and 14 were mine. If Toei weren’t so mean they’d have probably gotten 13 from me, too. Edit: to be clear, I’m not *certain* for any but opening 14. That one absolutely popped off and became way bigger than the rest. I’m almost certain they found mine lol

Hopefully you guys have time to check out One Piece Movie 4 during this break. It's got that nostalgic art style that Carson loves so much and it's also just a very solid movie. I'm sure movie 6 is securely on the top of the list for movie recs, so I wanted to advocate for movie 4 a bit since it's not quite as popular. Sorry in advance if they already know all this.

I'm a little sad there were no lyrics for Op 12. Especially the part of the lyrics when we see Whitebeard always hits me in the kokoro. "The journey of adventures is for meeting someone special" just goes so incredibly hard with Whitebeard's character and motivation.

Yeah, huge thank you to Gavyn, the majority of them were from his collection. I would have liked to have all the credits/subtitles if possible but I think what we ended up with was the best combination of quality and context. In searching for the best quality intros it was frustrating that the most recommended videos are 4k 60fps versions which are nearly unwatchable in my opinion. I happened upon Gavyn's videos in my search, @'d him in the discord and he provided tons of other source quality videos and movies as well.

I don't know what are these commercials but if there's any slightest spoilers, they shouldn't recommend watching it... stuffs like that can get stuck in someone's head and overthink it... we want their genuine reaction as much as possible when stuffs happens or shown in the series

Opening 11 was aired at the time of the 10th Anniversary of OP animation, so you have to hear that celebration catch as well EVERYTIME if you don't skip it ;(
