Luffy often makes confident statements, I think mostly to reassure his friends and allies when things are near hopeless. But I feel like in this instance even Luffy had his doubts that he could break the ship in time, which is why this felt particularly intense and desperate compared to other arcs with similar "countdown to disaster" situations. Also the Franky moment you were thinking of was during Thriller Bark. With Chopper's assistance he quickly built an unstable staircase to reach Oars' face for a combo attack.

Another reason to not watch the remake. THIS SCENE RIGHT HERE! I can confirm that some of the dialogue from the sea kings was cut. (Condensed) in both this episode and the next when its such critical information to the story. It’s like the studio did not even care to recognize the immportance of this scene and it’s so obvious that its setting up future events in the plot. It’s not only crucial for what has been established well in advance prior but also used as foreshadowing. Ultimately this is why we chose for you not to watch the remake because of cut scenes like this and terrible production flow with no rhythm to the story's narrative beats.

Great obversations carson, they are indeed from the series first opening but also from a very early scene in one piece if you recall. Think back to the calm belt.

Luffy taking the classic nap after saving the day. This is so random but I would love to see you guys react to the One Piece Hungry Days noodle commercials. I believe there are four of them + a music video, and they are soooo good. But on a second thought I fear they might have some minor character spoilers if my memory isn't failing me. We included them in the additional content that we suggested they watch. There aren't any narrative spoilers for anything past where they are now. There are just a few future characters that are used in the background very briefly. You probably wouldn't notice them even if you know the characters unless you looked suuuuuper close so we decided that they were fine.

I just remembered that the black and white sea king was the one that they are stuck in the snout part after lougue town I think an episode when they were in the calm belt. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.
