I’m sticking this journey out all the way no question. Perfect timing for the drop too, just got off work and got some food, thanks for your hard work this month and staying so consistent!!!

BOLDcast

thank you so much! Enjoy! (Also we just posted our live action chopper reveal trailer on YT)

Hy

I've been holding off on the latest one piece episodes cause I want to watch it with you guys. 🫡

Kossain

Loving your reactions and discussions as always! Keep it up!

idziman

I was planning to either way, you two have quickly become one of my favorites based on your discussions. Hope to see the cover stories added to them too, especially with how in-depth you go!

SomeoneElse

The end sequence of this episode is so good. Such a great message.

ChocoBoshi

"whether you hurt someone or are hurt by someone, the same red blood will be spilled" is one of my all time favorite quotes from One Piece. Such an amazing sequence. Watching this scene for the first time I felt how special it was but watching it back after 13 years and at this point in my life it makes me so emotional for so many reasons. God I love this series, I'm so glad you guys are getting to experience it too. I've really disliked the translation's on crunchyroll since the timeskip. I don't think there is a much better method of viewing aside from Kaizoku fansubs but that's a bit of a hassle. Heres a different translation I found that might make the message a bit clearer. "Whether you hurt someone or are hurt by someone, the same red blood will be spilled. Though far too narrow to be called a path, it was the tiny tubes through which that blood now flowed that tore through prejudice and fear, through the battles of those who sought to wash away blood with more blood. So smoothly and easily it flowed, that, clearer than any wild dream or ideal all could see it for what it was. A path to the sun." I think that does a little bit of a better job getting the point across.

Ariix

Blood flowing - not because someone got hurt, but because someone is being saved. We love Jimbei.

You guys killed it this month, went absolutely crazy with the daily uploads and quality discussions this arc. You've got a strong streak going right now, but if for any reason you gotta break it seriously don't feel too bad. As long as you guys stay healthy overall and motivated for One Piece, that's what matters. Daily uploads are cool but not worth risking fatigue or burn out. All that being said, I see no reason to stop pledging anytime soon. Let's head on to the New World gang!

DesmaAlt Unboxing

Another translation I found for the message at the end, which I think its from the viz version, is this one: "Both the wounders and wounded alike bleed red blood. That small, narrow tube far too tiny to call a road was unlike prejudice born of hate and fear, or battle washing blood clean with more bloodshed. But it was nevertheless, more than any wild dream or ideal fantasy, a vivid and real representation of the true road towards the sun". Got this from Chapter 648 of the manga.

I think one piece will also do a final war arc in the end Like Naruto and Bleach

2026-09-08 02:00 Poneglyph audio book has got to be the best name for it. The blood transfusion scene is one of my favorite scenes ever, with the blood flowing, narrator cooking, oh, the symbolism in that was so chilling.

Nice! But the real question is: When cover stories ? 😆

Martin Hagen

Same. That monologue by the narrator has stuck with me ever since I watched it

Nightrain

As a japanese speaker, this is also the version I wanted to post in here. It's more accurate to the original and I think it does the best job at getting the same feeling across. Although the translation they used here wasn't terrible either.

Artemis

and Fishman island is the worst arc in one piece. 🤣🤣🤣💀💀

King

Staying for the whole journey with u two.

I think Brook literally just needs an arc or two to settle in, he got a lousy deal joining right before being Kuma'd away. We never got any time for him to mesh and mingle with everyone as the new guy on the crew. Now as for Franky, I've always theorized that he feels a bit out of place on the crew for one particular reason. Luffy never saved him. Rather, Luffy never fought to recruit him in any meaningful capacity. It's arguably the most crucial aspect of Luffy's recruitment process. He comes to like you so much, he'll fight like hell for you and your well being. It's been the trend for literally every Strawhat so far except Franky. They had one good scene during Enies Lobby where Luffy entrusted Robin's rescue to Franky. It's a great character moment that shows growth in their previously hostile relationship. Unfortunately it's little undercut when you realize Luffy would've chosen pretty much anyone to go after Robin, it just so happened to be Franky who got there first. What's more is that Luffy and Franky never got to touch base at any point and squash their beef with each other, just the two of them. It would have been an interesting full circle moment having Luffy find a way to reconcile with the man who simultaneously fractured but also saved his found family. During the Post-Enies Lobby arc, Luffy just kinda abruptly admits he now likes Franky enough to have him be his shipwright even though there's been nearly zero inclination of him progressively building to that development. You could argue it's because Luffy recognized that Franky risked a lot to save Robin, but to me that doesn't seem sufficient enough for Luffy to flip his feelings on Franky so drastically. Plenty of side characters from many arcs go above and beyond for the crew, Paulie being a perfect example. So why does only Franky get the invite? Luffy despised this guy just days ago but because he saved Robin once Luffy's now all cool to take him with? I just feel like Oda missed one or two important steps in between Luffy relying on Franky to save Robin and Luffy wanting Franky bad enough to make him join. I feel this is the primary reason behind why Franky feels low key out of place on the crew. I also wanna make it clear, despite what I wrote here I don't hate Franky at all. On the contrary, the only way I could ever look this deeply into the development and relationships of a fictional pants-less cyborg is because I actually like and care way way way too much about him. I love that he's on the crew and everything he brings to the crew dynamics, but it always bugged me how janky his recruitment and placement has felt.

Clockwerk9000

I’m here for the long haul, but don’t worry if you need to take a break for health reasons or fatigue. I’m really excited for you to see the rest of this crazy journey

Sanji Joestar

Something the translation for both the Anime and the official English manga misses when it comes to the Sea Kings' conversation is how they're referring to ''Them'' as ''Ichizoku"(Clan/Tribe etc) Whether it's a descendance thing or a knowledge thing isn't clarified in their speech but it's worth noting.

Sanji Joestar

(About Blood Types in One Piece and each Strawhat's) Q: Hello Oda-sensei! In volume 62 when Sanji meets the mermaids and bleeds profusely, Chopper was saying his blood type was "S", but that sounds really different! What are the other blood types? If it's okay with you, I'd like to know the blood types of all the Straw Hats! - P.N. Bepo O: Yeah. Sure. (A=X; B=F; XF=AB; S=O) Luffy F Zoro XF Nami X Usopp S Sanji S(Rh-) Chopper X Robin S Franky XF Brook X (LOL) Jinbe F Vivi F ...so that's it. To be clear, the types include F, S, X, and XF. However in this world, the way people call blood types hasn't been united yet so there seems to be places where they use A, B, or C instead. (For Example when we meet Crocus at the beginning of the story, he mentions his blood type being AB(XF).)

Sanji Joestar

Amazing Episode and Amazing Discussion like always. Been excited to see you guys witness the blood transfusion scene for so long. It's such a perfect knot to tie everything perfectly and neatly together. I hope to continue watching your content as long as I'm able to and I'm glad you enjoyed one of the ''worst arc in One Piece" to this much extent. Couldn't be happier.

Sanji Joestar

JINBE NAKAMA EVERYBODY STAND UP AND CLAP 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Ty

Btw it’s not “Jimbei” it’s Himbei because he really is him No hesitation, no wavering, just a badass lionheart of a man. He continues at every point to just be the best. Whale sharks are the biggest fish in the ocean so it makes sense that he is a whale shark fishman. His heart is so big and he is a perfect representation for Fishmen as a whole. Forgot to mention I love how doctor Chopper warns Jimbei that the blood transfusion needle may hurt a little and Jimbei being the respectful person he is says he doesn’t mind. They both know it won’t hurt him but they both are so kind that they still have the little interaction. Also congrats on the consistency streak! I look forward to next month.

Sonicluis

Ah yes the moment luffy ask jimbei to join. I can’t wait to see his dynamic with the crew.

Copper Nickus

"Poneglyph audiobook" is hilarious lol.

JoshVPlays

Prior to this month goal you had I had already renewed for a year so I’m here for the LONG haul haha

ViviMay

We can do that? I thought its only for every month.

millecamps

you can subsribe for a year and it's cheaper than to subscribe every month for a year

JoshVPlays

Yea there’s monthly and annual. Not every Patreon has this option so that might be why you didn’t know

ViviMay

Yeah it only says monthly thats why I'm confused 😅 thank youu 💖

JoshVPlays

When you pick the tier and go to the payment there should be a monthly or annual selection. I hope that helps!

Sanji Joestar

'' My blood isn't type F but it's still red, Can't you use it ? " BLESS HER❤️❤️❤️❤️

Veritas

Technically O-Neg is not the rarest, AB-Neg is, but because O-Neg is the universal donor, they're just best at giving and worst at receiving. Kind of like Sanji himself.

Sanji Joestar

You're right I mixed an Op fact with Irl fact lol S(Rh-) is the least distributed among characters whose blood types we know.

Mo za

I'm sure it's there for a reason 😭

Jeremy

Been waiting for this episode for weeks lol

Jeremy

I have seen better translations

tavuntu

This episode solidified Jimbei as the GOAT among GOATS.

tavuntu

All the SH are equally important to both Luffy and Oda. It's just the fans who decided to split them.

WaffleFrog

Thank you BOLDcast for being consistent with your schedule this past month. I know it can be difficult, for myself personally due to ADHD and trying my best to keep up with life. Because of that I have found a lot of comfort from your videos and I look forward to the end of my day to watching your reactions to my favorite shows, it’s like a chill movie day with companions. Thank you again and hope you like One Piece going forward!

Ty

You forgot about usopp

Hassan sdk

yoooo just renewed my pledge to the max level

millecamps

does it follow the same blood transfusion law as our world? like O can give to anyone, then wouldn't usopp, sanji and robin be able to give their blood to luffy? or does it follow only the rarity of our world and in one piece you only give to people with the exact same type as themself?

Sanji Joestar

For those two, the implication is that they can't donate to him because they're not Rh- like Sanji. Since they're S(Rh+) they can receive from Sanji but can't give to him.

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

I would be surprised if One Piece dosen't have a final war arc where the powerscaling goes out of control

Arkham

I love the blood donation scene thematically, but on a character level I love how Jinbei tends to support the systems he respects, but the second he thinks something is wrong he pulls out the “fuck you I’m a pirate card”

Artemis

Its sarcasm lol. I just find it so appaling that people label this arc as "worst in the series". Just why?? Are they not reading the same story im reading?

BOLDcast

Exactly lol Like this arc was absolutely incredible. Lots of dumb shit too, but I honestly don’t see how people could see it being so much worse than most one piece arcs, outside of the fact that it comes right after marineford

Fabulous

It is definitely the pacing and length of the arc. Early one piece was bad but the arcs were short and the arcs kept on getting better over time until now. Foxy was bad but it was only 9eps compared to fishman island.

Artemis

Most complaints point to Hordy being an un-interesting villain and not much of a threat in the story compared to previous antagonists having to use drugs as hax powers, but the idea of this story wasn't to convey power scaling, it was a more nuance personal take on the themes of fishman island which extend to the world of OP as a whole and hordy is a byproduct of that system as is the rest of the fishman. It is it the most intelligent piece of writing so far in OP in my opinion. I am sorry it alienated some fans from the series, but this is oda maturing as an author and not just writing kids shit all the time.

David P

I appreciate the consistency with the videos. I will continue to support you guys after all this effort. Great content and discussions lately !

Momar

This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series

Camila

I think we spent so long w the crew as it was, and going through the time skip it would be difficult for the audience to accept a new member bc we would always be thinking about all that they didn’t go through with the crew, so I think what Oda did w Jimbe was genius, i have never seen anyone that get at this point and isn’t already asking him to join
