I love this reveal. So nonchalant and after an entire episode of goofing and hoofing, we get JoyBoy lore, Poseidon reveal and Void Century lore.

Joyboy was a figure from the void century, 800 years ago who failed to fullfill a promise to the royal family of the fishman island. The details of what transpired or what kind of promise he failed to keep alludes you for now, but just log the name to memory for a later date. The Noah obvously has something to do with this mystery as well. The dialogue that the sea kings speak are also very immportant clues but it is one of those situations where your only getting little pieces of a much larger picture down the line. It is interesting that oda is finally answering some long saught after mysteries that have been built up in earlier parts of one piece like the "Voice of all things" and the ancient weapon Poseidon along with the immportance of the sea kings which were first shown in the east blue saga.

I just wanted to clarify that, since Carson suggested the VC itself potentially might have been 999-899 years ago. With just the stillframe open, it seemed like he interpreted Robin's "800+ years ago" comment as referring to the VC, when she was actually just reiterating Joyboy's lifetime.

I believe the king said he was born in the blank century, so Robin answers "so he was born more than 800 years ago" since the blank century ended 800 years ago, and started 900 hundred years ago. Joyboy could have been born anywhere in that 100 years, so I don't think there was any change or reveal in that front
