Someone once said one thing One Piece does well is write children because they don't just become the [character is a kid] insert here type, but instead they're their own person in the way they function and react to what's happening around them. (I guess Chimney is the exception and love her for that, she's wild lmao) And I couldn't agree more. Knowing this whole time Mocha was fighting with clear knowledge of, not just hers but her friend's mortality at stake is chilling. Seeing her break down as she just doesn't want the future they promised each other robbed is some powerful stuff and her sacrifice gets me everytime. W Chopper for the support and compassion while giving her hope❤️the way he slowly grows into his own person as the story progresses is peak.

Such a huge arc for Chopper. Breaks my heart the way he apologizes and bows to Mocha for something that's not at all his fault. But he does it anyway cause it's all he can do to try and console this child who just learned she won't live to see adulthood. And people have the nerve to say Chopper's nothing but a merch mascot these days. This is peak characterization right here, but the only things THOSE people care about are fights and power scaling.

All the pain and misery and here comes the main character. Things are about to take a turn. But serously this episode was probably one of the darker episodes ive seen in OP. Presenting a child ODing on drugs, so she can save her friends from sucumbing to the addiction and side effects these candies have caused. Ceaser is really a twisted man. Morality wise I don't think we have seen a villian this demented in OP, experimenting on children for his own twisted ambition. Pretty heavy stuff man.
