Ooh...we have the rare occasion of the bad guy being stalled by waves of fodder, that's refreshing. Also I appreciate how the Dressrosa citizens hold some skepticism towards Luffy for being a pirate. I mean distrusting a pirate is pretty normal tbf, but in their case it's like reliving the same exact scenario that got them here in the first place. Even if THIS pirate is clearly sincere about wanting to save the island, they aren't so quick to offer their trust again after Doflamingo.

Kinda crazy to think that even with reasonable pacing, all of One Piece would probably still run way up into the 400's and beyond.

Maybe, remove the very small filler episodes, cut out the reaction shots and pump in a few extra chapters per episode? It miiight be able to cut down to less than 400 episodes.

The next like, 3 episodes have some of the most horrible pacing in the whole series. Specifically one of them is probably the worst paced episode of anything I’ve ever watched

I loved the similarities between Haki cooldown (also certain Fruits like Law's ability) and how Mana works in Frieren (which I only discovered recently relative to One Piece which I've known for a decade). Very video game-esque mechanics system, and both based on Chi/Qi. Only now I imagine everything from the time skip to Gear 4 was Luffy "suppressing" his Haki until he needed it. And to clarify, my headcanon is that all 3 types of Haki are fueled by the same "reservoir," I doubt they have separate bars.

Luke nah. 2 post-timeskip chapters would be enough for 1 episode. Never more than 2.5. And there's 600 post-timeskip chapters. Pre-timeskip (another 600) ain't fitting into 100-150 episodes despite the less dense chapters. That's like Jojo's part 4 or even part 1 pacing for a lot of eps. Which is too fast

Didn't write himself into a corner. It was intentional. Doffy ain't the be-all end-all in this. Remember Doffy is a pit stop to take down Kaido. And multiple characters in this arc are stronger than him

Yep both Sabo and Fujitora could have defeated Doflamingo. But Fujitora can't because of the Warlord system and Sabo doesn't want to one up his brother
