Please watch look back its so good

지원

let's go

miles

Definitely watch look back and the other Fujimoto shorts, so excited to watch this

x

50 men vs I've never been to school either

Stevie Wonder

Holy Peak, been waiting for this! Look back is great btw

Ariix

Look back and the Fujimoto episodes are both amazing! The Fujimoto One-Shot episodes were done by various studios, and it's so cool to see how all of them poured so much love into Fujimoto's works.

Aidos Smagulov

Great reaction! By the way, the butterfly caught during the pool scene is a monarch butterfly, which is actually very poisonous and often kills spiders that try to eat it 🤔 Really excited to see your reaction to Look Back!

Jaime

Plague mask is the violence fiend. The mask gives him a continuous of dose poison, otherwise he's too strong (reminder from season 1)

Ariix

Also, just to show how messed up Fujimoto is; he confirmed in an interview that Reze feels incredible pain from all the explosions.

Reze is such a great character for only appearing for such a short time. When she first asked Denji to run away with her, I think she was being absolutely serious. Her "friend" could've been typhoon who might help them (maybe that's why she looked at the plane as a means to escape?). She probably genuinely empathized with Denji, though when she found out about Makima being involved, she seemed to have given up, although still decided to go back for him in the end, which is just heartbreaking. It was probably the first time in her life that she decided to break free.

Heya, I'm 5mins in and just wanted to add something to your thoughts there about s1. I'm kinda a new fan, watched s1 not even 2 months ago and this might be my favorite movie ever tbh (for the cinematography and audio-visual design more so than the tragedy around love/Reze like most of the internet/top comments on reactions - which I also love). If I look at the most watched reaction on YT rn it's a guy who just enjoys everything including "morally wrong" stuff. I feel like one can name it and still enjoy "the fantasy" cuz these characters aren't real. As some1 who has Makima as their 2nd fav char so far, I get annoyed for how much subtle foreshadowing I get by just reading comments for s1/the movie. I'm not reading the manga and I prob won't ever, but the amount of "haha we r so clever when we'll just post comments like "if only u knew" below every post who just enjoys her character and doesn't 110% say how toxic it is" is disconcerting to me. Feels like the Himeno-topic u talk about and that's why I wanna mention my experience, as for us watching reactions obviously is us looking forward to connect with other ppl enjoying the same thing. I'm a bit annoyed by the western morality standard getting in the way of enjoying fantasy and I might not be the only one when I look at view count. Imo one can state how great the story telling is and how dark the themes are but the "u should NOT like this character" and the amount of carefree spoilers thrown around by the CSM manga community is something I've never experienced with any other anime so far. Ofc every1 can do w/e they want and I didn't comment that anywhere cuz I can just close the video and watch something I enjoy, but u clearly also put some thought in there and how people judge you so I'll just leave my 2 cents here. tl;dr: We can behave like normal and nice human beings and still enjoy fantasy/behaviour we wouldn't act on irl. Enjoying the reaction now with u guys ^.^.

Chainshark squad rise up! Beam the goat!!!

i think my favourite interpretation of the butterfly caught in the cobweb by the spider isnt the obvious one that Denji was caught by Reze but instead the other way around, she fell hard and failed her entire mission because of him, and ended up losing by literally getting caught tangled in his chains like a cobweb at the end. Loved this movie! So excited for Season 2! chainsaw man has a panel on Jump Festa this month so hopefully it's an announcement for Season 2!

PLEEEEEEEEEASE REACT TO THE FUJIMOTO ANTHOLOGY AND LOOK BACK! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 the anthology is officially called "Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26" 17-26 are the ages he wrote the short stories so 1 episode is from a short he made when he was 17 and another when he was 18 and so on.

Just some notes from the movie. When Reze was singing, she actually was singing in russian. Also, Makima was whipping along her singing with her coffee mug, which means she was listening. That also explains why she talks abut also liking the country mouse.

Understandbly you skipped the credits Song to get to the after credits scene, but it would be cool If you actually reacted to the special Ending Video, which was released on Youtube. Some other reactors also reacted to the ED after the movie like Flexijayanime and its perfect because it was written for the movie and specifically the heart breaking lyrics and the video are perfect after watching the Movie. The Ending Song is done by the same Artist as OP1 and the the Reze OP, Kenshi Yonezu + the Legend Hikaru Utada joins him in the ED. The OP and ED are both breaking records left and right on spotify and everywhere else. Name of the Ending Video is : 米津玄師,宇多田ヒカル「JANE DOE」×『チェンソーマン レゼ篇』MV/KenshiYonezu,HikaruUtada-JANE DOE×ChainsawMan–TheMovie:RezeArc 3.57 minutes long and released 3 weeks ago, just so you don't get the wrong video.

The Painting in the School is called "Daphnis et Chloé" by François Boucher, depicting the lovers Daphnis and Chloe from the Greek Novel by Longus. A Romance between two young people in the Country (hmmmmmm), who share a precious and intimate moment and after being teared apart from another, eventually get back together. Denji and Reze are a cruel and unfortunate version of Daphnis and Chloe, who were denied their happy ending inches apart from being united. Reze who wanted to be the Country mouse and Denji who is living the city mouse for the first time in his life, was willing to leave the City life behind for her. The Painting is a an awsome Anime addition, but classical Paintings were already featured in S1 and this addition very much fits with what Fujimoto is going for. Fujimoto graduated from Tohoku University in Fine Arts/Western Painting and uses them in his works masterfully.

The Maximum the Hormone Song in S1 was the 30 % Version of the full Song and in the Reze Movie the 70 % Version. They are Huge CSM fans and the lyrics of this 70 % Version had Reze Arc spoilers and now we wait for the remaining 30% with future Seasons to finally have the complete version. The Movie makes for amazing rewatches, with so many great details and clever (anime) additions/ little tells all over the place. The Moment when Denji came out of the pool he sniffed himself and that is probably the first time he was ever in a pool and encountered the smell of Chlorine. Or him eating the Flower is a sad reminder from S1 that he was eating out of dumpsters for anything nutritious, just like he was about to drink the can filled with cigarettes, before Reze entered the Booth. Reze walking to the Cafe at the start of the Movie where she is almost marching over there like a soldier and at the end where she starts going faster and breaks free and starts running, filled with hope of escaping with Denji. When Reze met Denji for the first time in the Phone Booth, she was holding her hand over the Pin on her Chocker, which could potentially play into her about to fulfill her mission and kill Denji right there. She doesnt tho and its up to interpretation how much she is delaying it because she is following a plan or If what is more likely, for the first time enjoying her time with like you said in the reaction, an earnest like-minded young person for probably the first time in her whole life. Rezes twitching eye face, which you called "her locking in " when the Psycho Killer was on the Roof with her, was like she was woken up from her little fun little dream with Denji and snapped back into her shittly violent reality. The last Straw was Denji hesitating after Reze wanted to run away with him at the the Festival and a cruel final reminder that she has to fullfill her mission. The Movie was a huge Hit on all fronts and that is so pomising for the Future of the Series. I can't wait for S2 and what the Staff is gonna do with the future Source Material. Also can only join all the others here and say "Look Back" reaction would be amazing. His anthology Series "Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26" would be a great watch as well, with many diffrent studios and directors adapting his early works beautifully and giving us a peak into his early mind and process. Surely with Chainsaw Man/Fujimoto everywhere the algorithm should boost some views of his other stuff as well right now.

user940716

The reason Makima told the story about the mouse when she pulled up was to let Reze know she was listening to her and Denji's conversation in the school about the country mouse and city mouse, that she had been watching the entire time.

Elsa

God dammit don't skip ED😟

Jesse Vincente

You should check out both Look Back snd the snthology, they're both fun.

In your season 1 discussion, you guys said that you didn't think it quite lived up to the hype it was getting from the manga readers and other anime creators. Expectations were set disproportionately high for the amount of ground the anime would be covering, and reaching that high with season 1 alone would be very difficult. You guys meant that it was good and you liked it, but it was overhyped. This movie was again, just like season 1, very hyped. Do you think it lived up to the hype this time? And did this movie make you see a bit more where the hype from the manga readers back when season 1 aired were coming from? I love this movie so much, and i thought your reaction and discussion at the end was great! This is, in my opinion, where csm starts to go from good to great, and it's just gonna continue to get better from here. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on season 2 when it comes out hehehe!

Dax22

yeah people were expecting 2 cours. they thought they would've adapted this reze arc and then some more which would've been crazy if it happened 🥲🥲🥲🥲 been way too long, 3 years!

Denji is in my top 3 anime MCs
