"When it comes to you and heretics you executed...neither of you will be known to history." There were a few people who were critiquing/nitpicking on the premise of the execution, tortutre and prosecutuion of heretics believing in Heliocentrism, which is a bit of historical innacuracy. But with this episode we get this clever subversion on all that with Nowak, the Bishop(father of Antoni) and the "misunderstanding" and tragic nature of everything that unfolded. The Orb mangaka Uoto in an interview noted one of the inspirations for the Manga was the widespread misconception that heliocentrism was heavily oppressed in medieval times and he worked that into the story beautifully, as Antoni himself this episode noted, with the order of the destruction of all the records regarding Rafal, oczy etc. and everyone major involved in this matter dying this episode.

These characters are SO GOOD. Ah I love this show. And you're totally right, Antoni, as slimy and punchable as he is, is just spitting the truth. Not that he would care either way. It really is such a tragic "misunderstanding", and really highlights some terrible cruelty in this kind of system. For me it is hard to fully excuse Nowak, he did very terrible things, but I can't help but still feel some sympathy for the circumstances of this poor, foolish man. This discussion was great.
