100 METERS YES!!!

Ozy

The Orb journey has finally finished. It's been so fun watching you guys. Glad you guys enjoyed the series. I understand why you guys are confused with the whole Rafal thing (All of us were). I believe one of the reasons with whole doppelganger thing is showcasing both side of the coin, since they both have the same beliefs but young version has a more positive side to it while the older version having a more cynical side to his beliefs where he go through extreme methods of gaining more knowledge. Also good find with the priest inside the confession room being one of the two young helpers of Nowak. That was a very fun and interesting discussion too. Btw are you guys planning to check out 100 meters (Hyakuem)? A story by the same author as Orb (Uoto) that got adapted into an animated movie. Both the story and animation is incredible and I would highly recommend it. Also one of his earlier works too.

For me, the ending of Orb is one of the most powerful endings to an anime I can think of recently. All the characters until the end never existed, and the author is basically saying we don’t know the true history of the past. It took so many people just to get the name of the book to the right person. The whole story, all the struggles and perseverance, and the thing that actually allowed knowledge to continue was Oczy’s generosity. There was an invisible force of connections in the background that Albert just happened to pass by and get inspired by. It’s really cool to think about the billions of people, connections, and lives that had to exist for us to be where we are right now. I think it’s common for us to look into our own family history, but what about the invisible people who influenced them? Space has been one of my favorite topics since I did a report in grade school on Tycho Brahe. Like Rafal he was able to see very well before telescopes were invented. It is so cool to see how we have progressed since then. Just 500 years ago, we didn’t know much about the cosmos, yet here we are sending people around the moon and back. We have telescopes that can see billions of LIGHT YEARS away. Its so cool. Thanks for all the work and effort that went into this reaction series. Even with the hiatuses, you both never phoned it in, and every episode is peak Boldcast. This is definitely a series I will recommend when new people ask, what are your best series?

Oh my god yesssss, I cant watch and comment until later after work, but I just know there is some 5 star michellin cooking in this Final discussion that awaits me. Also would absoluetly love to watch a 100 meters reaction on patreon from you two. Its special in so many ways and even by a tiny slimmer beat out the csm reze movie last year for me. Its a crazy passionate and wonderful movie adaptation

Brakthir

You guys timed it perfectly. It took almost a full rotation around the sun to finish this :)

BOLDcast

glad we could deliver. I'm personally really proud of this reaction series as well. I love everything about this show and I like what you said about subtle influence. Its crazy to think about for sure

BOLDcast

i think I cooked with an interpretation in the discussion about Rafal its just a little bit deep into the discussion and yeah we intend to check out 100 meters, but we shall see. I don't think it can go on YT anymore cause a bunch of other reactors got strikes for it but who knows!

Those discussions at the end is exactly what makes this anime, one of the brilliantly written stories of this decade. Uoto himself is also a student of philosophy and wrote this manga in his 20s. A brilliant mind indeed. 100 meters is also one of his best works
