You know, all things considered, the crew made it really far through the Seducing Woods on foot. I guess Kingbaum really didn't need to be sacrificed after all

지원

CAN'T WAIT NEXT EP

BTImelesS

My god the pacing...

Sanji Joestar

That Red Hawk is still one of the best!!! Peak colors

Gaetan

I feel like the real inconvenient of knowing about certain characters hypes is to undermine/underate others cause you haven't seen hype about them. Perospero is BM eldest son, being sure Chopper and Brook can take him is a true hot take ngl. He silences them without even trying here lol. It's like watching a sport event on illegal stream (with delay) and a chat livestream on the side in the same time. The worst part is not to being spoiled that a great action is coming, it's knowing that the begining of an action which could be great will lead to nothing cause you haven't seen any crazy reactions on the chat. Tbf, in the case of Perospero, his tendancy to be an annoying character and his design are enough to undermine him, I've to admit lol.

myridiann

i ll make u candy and lick you

BOLDcast

thats not what we're basing it off of. We can just tell that Perospero, despite having a reputation, is not going to be an overall significant threat the same way Katakuri is clearly being built up as. Its clear as day

BOLDcast

this ep was rough tbh, but the end made up for it

Sanji Joestar

I mean if we had him we'd be in and out in like two episodes If we didn't have Zeus's gluttony and Pudding helping us twice we'd still be in there. While Brook and Chopper who expected us to already be there got turned into ticking candies about to die.

BTImelesS

As long as it doesn't put you off to watch more that's perfect! But imagine if that was all you got after a week (sometimes 2) of waiting, I think that's why a lot of people have PTSD with these last 3 arcs (Zoo excluded) 😶

Clockwerk9000

yeah the pacing is a bot rough here but that red hawk did look super sweet

idziman

Part of the reason it took them so much longer was that Nami thought they could use him to make an opening since he's the master of the forest, but she forgot that Big Mom's orders trump his and the Woods just closed right up again. Whereas if they never got on him, they could have just kept going at the same pace the whole time

Oussama Essamadi

The colors in that Red Hawk portion were amazing. Pedro looked very inspired back there.

Sanji Joestar

Not at all It didn't take them longer to make an opening in the forest? Kingbaum saved them time when running through the field and away from Big mom. She was literally tailing them. If he wasn't there, she would have caught up to us with Zeus before we even got near the forest. Instead Nami used the time gained with Kingbaum to distract Zeus with lightning clouds making Big Mom fall off him. Slowing her even more, and which then led to the bigger lightning strike putting her underground. All while Kingbaum made it quite into the forest before he got scared and stopped by Prometheus. Being a homie, fear stuns them. Also Spoilers for Boldcast . . . We later learn that when Big Mom's in a hunger pang her homies become less obedient which explains Kingbaum's case.

Gaetan

Yeah sure, it's just that for me there is a world between being a threat as much as Katakuri could be to the SH and being taken by Chopper/Brook or being dead in 3 minutes (obviously not litterally especially in One Piece where he'd be the first ever foe to die). Yep, Brook show some great developments and skills against BM, but it's like Usopp vs Luffy, great fight but nowhere near the level of the opponent ending in a one shot. It was not a critic of your reaction btw (I should have certainly phrased it better), but more a thought on human bias (that apparently doesn't affect you) and a critic (real this time) to Oda's will of never killing characters (main ones or/and in present time at least), which lead to never fear for the crew. Basically, a scene without BM or Katakuri, will have no weight on the audience for the remainder of the arc and that's sad. Oda has failed to make a Yonko's crew a real threat for most people.

Samrathpal Singh Thind

Inspired about what? How to light sanji’s cigarette in same colour?

Oussama Essamadi

Dunno, gotta what more to see what it’s about.

Capitano

I'm so glad we finally got to the coast, the pacing for these past few episodes has been rough.

Jack Shadow

There was never fight between SH and BM pirates, it was Nami who defeated BM subordinates, and Chopper and Brook was just captured from the begining. This is why pacing last 3 episodes was bad.

Ty

We also have seen big moms first daughter yet she doesnt have the aura that smoothie has for example.

Will.Har310

I feel like things like that are mainly issues for manga readers who read that specific part and the majority of anime onlys don't think much of it since One Piece is an inherantly slow series. I'm not saying they don't notice the slow pacing, I mean that they don't view filler scenes like the StrawHats fighting the fodder Big Mom pirates as seeming out of place; in fact I'd argue some filler scenes like that are a good thing if they are done right to help bridge the gap between moments when transitioning from manga panels to animation. There's a whole filler/Anime Cannon episode at the end of the next arc that I remember people really liking for fleshing out things that people wish were fleshed out in the manga.

idziman

Again, there was no need for Kingbaum to be involved then, Nami had also been distracting Zeus while running and while Jinbe carried her. Plus, Big Mom never threw a single attack while they were riding Kingbaum that they couldn't have dodged while on foot. Also, if fear stuns the Homies, then using them to run away from something that they fear is actually a really dumb idea to begin with. What if Prometheus had stopped him from the beginning? He would have been killed right away and they'd be running the whole distance all the same

Matthew Gilroy

Zou's pacing was shit outside of a couple episodes

Matthew Gilroy

Katakuri has done nothing up to this point to put him above Perospero in terms of signifance, portrayal, or strength really. Edgy designs doesn't mean much when it comes to Oda. Any type of design goes. If anything Perospero is more of a mystery to the audience at this point. Katakuri had a bounty reveal, and we know his place in the crew.

Matthew Gilroy

Alas most people do have a subconscious bias towards edgy/cool characters and their place in the story. Doflamingo and Lucci are examples. Doffy isn't really beating any of Big Mom's top guys. And Lucci isn't beating Moria

Skele

SomeoneElse

Nothing happening but I still love all the Pudding jokes lol. As far as bad pacing episodes go, I still enjoy these quite a lot just because it's so refreshing seeing Sanji as the one being fawned over. That whole dynamic is so fun to me

BTImelesS

Sure dude, it's probably because I don't have your level of deep understanding of the material that the pacing didn't bother me on Zou.

Matthew Gilroy

Nothing about understanding. The pacing was shit. Or did you forget Zunesha saying "GIVE ME THE ORDER" to Momo and Luffy for 20 minutes straight?😂

BTImelesS

Comparing to Wedding Cake/ Bellamy - Luffy fight and the Poison Gas chase scene I'll take Zounesha every time

Murkou

Who cares? Even without knowing anything I could tell that Katakuri is stronger than Perospero, its very obvious from the vibes and how he is build up. And I was right lol. Most of the time edgy characters who dont care to do much DO end up being strong af.

Abraham Lever

Chopper and Brook are 2 of the 4 weakest crew members, they would never be able to take Perospero. You guys doubt and disrespect yonko crew members too much.
