To me: the brimmed hats (not the group) symbolize a more outward/outgoing approach to magic while the non-brimmed hates symbolize a more gatekept/withheld approach to magic. Those types of hats flare outwards because magic is meant to be shared and expressed freely and the regular ones don’t flare because magic is now meant to be more repressed and internal We even sorta had this brought up in the episode (sorry I forgot their names rn): pink haired girl wants to use her magic to help as many people as possible while Agott is only doing it for a self-serving reason. Even the blue haired girl wants the freedom to express herself however way she pleases through magic and doesn’t wanna be forced down a restrictive path where she is required to learn spells she doesn’t care about and do stupid tests she doesn’t care about

Also think about how that healing magic had to be invented in the first place, kinda hard to draw a line between developing that through trial and error and experimenting on people. Even furthering their knowledge of it to make it better possibly requires a type of human experiments kinda by definition. They leave it vague so it’s all speculation and I can’t say for sure there isn’t some ethical way they could have been doing this but I try to always keep in mind how traumatized by forbidden magic this society seems, it feels like it’s probably that way for a good reason. Also holy shit did you see what that brimmed cap was capable of remotely casting int Qifreys room?!? Bro made Qifrey look downright silly! Could have done pretty much anything to him after that and just… left instead, crazy flex.

I think a piece of exposition was cut, namely that they don't have a Window Way in Kaln because it's pretty close by, and making them is complex. So Qifrey has never seen it as worth it.

I finally caught up! Don't know anything about this manga so I'm thoroughly enjoying the anime. I gotta say, I'm glad Hanae Natsuki was cast as Quifrey. He's uber talented (he IS Tanjiro's VA after all) and I feel the warmth in his voice when Quifrey talks to his students. Him being a father to two young twin girls probably helps. ☺️

The fact that you couldn't tell for 9 eps shows how good he is because his voice IS very distinct. I only caught it at the end of ep 1 because of how he yelled. You definitely got Gojo's VA and Sukuna's VA down tho. ☺️
