Hello boldcast, here is my petition. I would like to formally request a manga reading stream SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS ARC ONLY ✋😳✋dont worry. This arc is 6 chapters in the manga so it won’t be very long or anything (maki arc was 4). The anime is 12 episodes of flashback filler between all the canon stuff. For context, if one piece had the pacing of a more modern anime like jjk, this arc would only be 2 or 3 episodes. I believe this would accomplish a few things 1. You would finally get to experience at least some of the manga since I’m sure you don’t have time to read the entire thing 2. You would get a better understanding of the toei vs oda problem 3. Odas artistic vision would be on better display I think 4. You could compare the anime and manga which would be a fun podcast topic If you guys don’t have time I understand but speaking for myself I would really enjoy hanging out with you guys on a one piece stream. I really enjoyed the maki stream it was a fun time. This petition is available for co-sign 🫡

Crazy to imagine it took 878 episodes of the regular anime for them to adapt like the second page of the manga lol. Atleast there was a special adapting Luffy's backstory that shows him stabbing himself. Some people have seen it and often misremember when it was shown.

Boldcast I would recommend if you’re going to do some of the extra stuff like movies to do it after reverie. Cause Wano is very long. You guys aren’t going to need to do that in multiple parts for podcast discussions. At least I would recommend that it’ll be a good idea to do some of the movies and specials and stuff after reverie cause we’re gonna be on for a while.

My main issue for the live is spoilers I guess. I DO NOT trust any chat to stay chill during a live with One Piece content being discussed. So maybe if they're unable to chat, sure. If they're on board, it could be fun.

I think @Bootyman555’s idea can help better the experience of this arc, or doing 2 episode drops could also be a solution. Within each episode, the actual new content is worth like half an episode’s (sometimes even less) usual runtime, while the rest of the episode is just flashback/recap filler/padding. I think this was done because Toei were basically prepping as much as possible for the next arc (which makes sense), but the adaptation of this arc ends up falling short because of it, despite it only being like 5/6 chapters of manga. I hope you at least consider one of our ideas, but in the end it’s up to y’all 🫡

Nah, there are 4 Emperor slots just like there are 7 Warlord slots and 3 Admiral slots. There are multiple people that are just as strong as warlords that are not warlords. The government decides who get these titles. Morgans cant just be out here creating emperors that the navy now needs permission to engage just because someone is strong. Its deeper than that. Individual strength, huge army/territory and how big of a threat to the world balance they are is probably how they decide.

I definitely think using your discretion on skipping recaps is good. I love the mindset of wanting to experience the anime for what it is, filler and all, just cutting out what you've already seen before. This arc in particular is probably one of the best to both watch and then read just to get an idea of the type of thing that is changed between the anime and manga formats. Sanji Joestar has put a ton of work into providing an easy way to experience both the canon and bonus content so I would highly recommend you guys check that out in the Mod channel. Personally I'm fine with however you want to experience this part of the series. To my knowledge nothing is withheld in the anime, it may just be spaced out more than in the manga. Also also, I really think the end of this short arc is one of the last chances you'll have to watch side content like movies and specials for quite a while without pausing in the middle of something in the main story and I would highly recommend doing so. There are tons of things that I've seen asked for in the discord on a weekly basis for over a year now.

Emperors are not an official rank though. They didn't make a system and say 'We are Emperors now, here is our territory'. They became known as Emperors, because they were super strong and powerful. They only keep the Yonko thing because the original 4 were around for so long it was like they became institutions themselves.

Yeah that's kinda what im saying though. Someone cant just decide for himself that he's an emperor now, just like Morgans cant crown a new emperor just because someone put up a fight against an existing one, since the navy/gov has certain rules about not engaging emperors without permission, aren't they the only ones who can actually decide of someone actually is one?
