Whitebeard's last words '' Just like Roger, someone will inherit Ace's will'' as the shot panned to Luffy. And here the parallel between Luffy and Ace is pretty clear. It's like Luffy inheriting the promess Ace made, him being his actual return ("when we return to this land") and having to fulfill it in his stead. 🤧♥️

Timewise it's been around 2 weeks since Luffy last saw Law. It took quite a while to get to Whole Cake and a few days to get from there to Wano.

This episode sparked so many theories about the ghosts of wano. I remember we had a 2 week break after this chapter first published in the manga and people were just going crazy on so many idea's and then finally it was revealed.

So...? Why would his character abandon what makes him unique to pick up a gun? How is that an effective change to Usopp? What does a gun bring that his current gear doesn't? Besides being like everyone else It's like saying Sanji should stop kicking and fist fighting like everyone else. Even Luffy's 'swordfighting' is clearly a joke because that's not how he fights? Also saying Luffy refuses to teach Haki to people is a similar talking point i don't understand He's not 'refusing' they're not interested They each have their strength and abilities Nami learning armament doesn't suddenly make her a better fighter if she's not a physical fighter in the first place And even in the scenario where she was changing her fighting style completely to be generic like everyone else, we know it took 1year and half for Luffy to learn the 'basics' and he's considered high potential by Rayleigh. Some ppl spend their lives never even achieving one. So unless Luffy saw his crew being completely lacking he has no incentive to teach something that's not their speciality. And even then it takes years to do so. That's just disregarding story and character motivation for powerscaling.

Because he's not a Child anymore? and your right... Sanji should stop just using his legs and the rest should learn basic haki. I'm sorry... are we trying to become the King of the Pirates or not? You're right its not in-line with the story but that just means the story is flawed.

So he needs a gun to be more 'adult'? A 'real weapon'? LOL This isn't a problem with the story, it's a problem with wanting the story to fit an edge it never had nor claimed to. Every character shows some form of whimsy or goofiness in their fighting style. Zoro's 3 swords Chinjao's pointy head Nami's magical wand Big Mom's Wonderland Usopp's slingshot Cola powered Franky And so on Nowhere does it say they have to become a serious gang that does what everyone else does to be 'fit for Pirate King'. The whole point of following this story is because the Strawhat are NOT TYPICAL. They still succeed despite their unconventional ways. Why's there a need to get rid of that for some odd edge/realism?

Unless Usopp learns armament haki what good would shooting bullets do him? Besides his pop green seeds are way more versatile and interesting than plain ol bullets. Why would you want to replace unique slingshot character with magic seeds that can do a huge assortment of different things with guy who shoots bullets accurately?

Talking about realism in a world like One Piece is just a waste of your time. Oda is not going to do what is realistic, he's going to do what he thinks is fun.

The person that called this part Yawno experiences and consumes stories in a way a lot of people unfortunately do - putting their cognitive energy too much on the barebones plot and nothing else. (I put that person into this category assuming his statement was not 100% pacing-based)

100 times out of 100 I'll take the "real", life-lived tone of early Wano, over the manufactured narrative of the 2nd half of Whole Cake. Luffy's conversation with Tama here alone washes majority of Whole Cake's 2nd half. There is so much soul in his words, and it feels real

I could lay a whole plan out for why my theory works and how the story is broken but do you really need it? Do you need that sort of coddling and pampering to get what im saying? I was being rude because of how absurd it is to think Usopp with a slingshot is better than with a gun! Don't call Oda great if you aren't going to question the simplest scenarios.

I was waiting for this episode to give this fact. It's crazy how dark One Piece can get and yet so silly at the same. Like most Manga/Anime is just dark because of gore, and death. A series like Gantz is no where near as dark as OP can be.
