Shows he gets more personally involved with those he wishes to help compared to before when he could just suffice with knowing a person, here it's a whole country they need to help and to understand its context he needs some information as Kinemon&co have been working on things he wouldn't want to actively/purposefully ruin.

making it so you can't go back in time is such a relief for so many reason and avoid plot hole. but even just the ability to send people and/or yourself in time is such a strong ability. imagine losing a fight, sending your opponent five days in the future, you have five days to recover and even set up a trap for when your opponent appear back 5 days later

I never really speculated much on her ability, but hearing you guys talk about it did bring a thought to my mind that there really could be significant plot points that occur in the future just because of her ability. Like if nothing else, imagine if, presuming she can see far into the future, she designed it so that she sent a message in a bottle to land 20yr5mo4d(as a random example) into the future with some deep lore or instructions for the straw hats or her son or something. Literal injected plot device imbedded into the story now that could make basically anything appear at any time.

Yeah because he didn't need the backstory to know about someone he learned to trust by himself. They needed help and that's all he cared about. Here he physically can't meet Oden to know about him, he can't assess who he was. So to know what he was like the least he can do is listen to someone who knew him.

Smiley's fruit is an exception due to Caesar's experimentation. It's the only fruit in the series we've seen respawn. If all fruits worked that way, Doflamingo wouldn't have had to look for Ace's fruit, and Monet's fruit would have respawned on the Sunny. The World Government of all people would know this information, and would use it to their advantage, but they don't. There are more examples I won't get into because of Spoilers, but literally every other respawn in the series works differently.
