Bootyman555

Do you know how crazy it is to wake up to thirty minutes of boldcast every fckin day. I genuinely have not felt like this since Marine ford

Sanji Joestar

Young Moria unironically elevates his character A LOT for me with not much. He introduces us to broken pirates. His mind and will are all broken after his defeat against Kaido. He might have the ambition to come back years later but he clearly lost the drive to do it by himself. Which is reflected through his motto ("YOU do it!") and powers. He's the shadow of his own self He lost his crew and everything so he resigned to undead creatures and shadows to work around those losses and gain an unkillable army It also makes his chara design amazing when you think about it He goes from slim to a oddly pear shaped guy. What else should show how broken he became? And the fact he warned Luffy before he faces a similar tragedy makes it even better. (I love that both also quite enjoy mechs for some reason lol) If Luffy didn't have Rayleigh, Jinbe or his crew, he could have easily fallen into the same path.

Adam Vialpando

In the manga Oden actually came closer to victory. In the anime when Oden cuts Kaido he gets up and they both prepare to clash. In the manga Kaido was still on the ground when Oden went for the kill.

Bootyman555

Lindsay got so mad at the old witch she had to turn on the Canadian

Daemedeor

Like zoro says in water 7, hesitation dulls a swordsman blade. Also you can see why kinemon learned fire cutting. So he can cut through kaidos fire breath

Envyus

If you are wondering why Jack's not in the flashback. He is only 28 so he was not part of the crew at the time.

idziman

Looks like it's boiled in oil.

Sanji Joestar

Yeah your analysis last episode was so well timed for this battle specifically Amazing

Sanji Joestar

With the elevates walls around Wano and the country itself basically being inside a giant water basin. It's so fitting that Oden's boiling metaphor applies to the shape of his country itself. Niete nanbo no Oden ni Sōrō !!!

Skele

I like the manga's translation for one of Oden's attack. In the anime it's called Paradise Waterfall, but in the manga they call it Paradise Falls which gives it that double meaning but alas it's not so.

I LOVE JOJO

And that’s why Moria is my favorite Warlord of the Sea! I love his character so much for that, and for how truly loyal he is to his crew.

Desdinova

Oda is really good at giving short back stories for villians that make you like them after you hated them. Besides Caeser, he just gets worse 🤣

Adam Vialpando

He doesn't get more likeable, but he gets funnier. He's like The Deep from The Boys. Both are awful and everyone hates them and they're so pathetic they become funny.

SomeoneElse

Moria is genuinely washed up because he was defeated as a pirate and lost his crew and lost his will. That's essentially why he is a loser now. Don Krieg of the New World is actually a great comparison 😂

100Rainy

Ngl that guy crawling out of the oil pot was probably the most gruesome scene in One Piece so far... Right next to Luffy sliding by his fingers and toes down the Drum Island mountains. Can't help but wince when you see that stuff 😬😫

Desdinova

Your 100% right, the Gastino bit had he dying when I first watched Whole Cake. Despite me always hating Caesar he always was entertaining compared to other pathetic characters. I warmed up alot to Buggy and Branch thanks to the aforementioned Oda writing.

The Realest

Lindsay mentioning Kaido's honour is great, because it's interesting how this dishonorable win fits in with Kaidos want for an exciting final war and him envying WB for how he died.

Coqnbauz

No shot by November we’ll be at THAT episode. I’m so exited

Michael DeArmas

All I'll say is look at Kaido's face after he beats Oden and tell me he doesnt care. They specifically give you a close up of his expression

Oussama Essamadi

Ohh God, till this day I still cringe at seeing that man slip into the pot LMAOO. Horrible, horrible Toei. The fight this episode was one of my favorite, more like a struggle than a fight but it really sells out the death or alive stakes. We already know the Nine Scabbards are alive in the future but it still is very intense as if they’ll meet their end at the next turn.

Capitano

Your reactions to Wano are peak and I'm really excited for what's to come. As always, amazing reaction.

SomeoneElse

Kaido vs Oden is legit so epic. I think it's underrated as far as fights go in the anime! Both of them battle crying at the top of their lungs at each other while sparks of lightning and thunder crash around them is just some insanely cool shit, and the animation with all the thick lines as well looked so good. One of my favourite fight scenes of all time honestly.

SomeoneElse

I think you called the death by boiling thing aaaaages ago back in Zou lol. I was lowkey mad when you first said it because I wanted it to be a cool twist/surprise for you, but damn, credit where it's due! 😂😂

Artemis

Some of Oda's most critical world building is deeply buried beneath layers of subtlety. This is true for alot of story arcs in the series. Because these details aren't the main focus, like the tragic history between Gecko Moria and Kaido, they often serve as intentional misdirection. Audiences get so caught up in the hilarity or the immediate goals of the Thriller Bark arc and how goofy Moria seems on the surface that they totally overlook how nuanced his character actually is. Yet, Oda sprinkles these narrative breadcrumbs throughout the entire story. If you have an eagle eye and pay close attention, you’ll uncover a completely hidden side of One Piece you would never normally catch.

Artemis

Now witness the hour of legends. Are you guys loving the wano arc so far?

SomeoneElse

Your reactions were great. Defs lived up to the hype, but also I don't want you to care if I'm ever disappointed in a reaction. Your natural reactions are your reactions. If I ever am bothered by your reactions not being what I had hoped, that's a me problem! Still, I get that you guys want to meet people's expectations etc and there is pressure to do so. It's a pickle.

Zoodinger

Too many hype episodes. This arc is great. There are many more after the flashback too.

Matthew Gilroy

Hyping up Zoro is basically hyping up Enma. I can't wait for Enma's bounty after Wano💀

Nicolas LeBlanc

As a fellow Canadian, I have no idea what was the Canadian thing she said. What is it?

Leighton

Shinobou also in the running for biggest glowdown….no disrespect 🙏

LaDarius

Kaido's laugh is, "WORORORORORORO"

Matt

They've seen hot Gecko Moria. Everything is right in the universe again

Irrevenant

Queen v Akazaya 8, meanwhile Denjiro is 1v1 with friggin King 🤣 Denjiro is such a beast

Bootyman555

Americans do not say fucks sake like that. Usually if you hear it from an American it’s “for fucks sake” also just the way she said it was Canadian as hell

Desdinova

Luffy trying to rip his arms off was pretty bad as well 😅

Desdinova

Oda isn't always subtle since every character who gives up on their dreams ends up gaing 300 pounds or becomes fugly 😂 Flashbacks for Villians is where he does this best since he never justifies them but adds nuance. People still argue if Doflamingo or Big Mom were "born' evil because of it being subtle.

100Rainy

truee forgot about that one
