SD Reunion

I did not expect the Oingo Boingo ost to kick in this episode but it matched surprisingly well with the closed nostrils trick 🐴

Is there maybe no Episode 1 of Steel Ball Run here? I can't seem to find it 😭

Craving

Glad u guys are enjoying it. Especially since if u asked me about sbr this would be the stuff where i would say its at its lowest IMO. It is never bad here, but just not the insane quality it is once it gets going and has more emotional impact and stakes under its feet. Arakis quality really steps up when SBR goes monthly, and this boomboom stuff is somewhat near the end of his weekly chapters. Once Araki finally went monthly, he truly leveled up as a writer and has been on another level since even into part 9 of JoJo. This is truly a part that picks up/builds slowly and it just doesnt slow down.

I LOVE JOJO

Write "Iron Jog" into the search

thx!

No problem—after all, it wasn't for nothing that I spent an hour last week, when the second episode came out, finding and rewatching that episode.

Ozy

Part 7 stands are really fresh, it's more about the creativity of how they use their power that revolves around their body or a certain object. Since the previous part stands, most of them were just humanoid stands that punches a lot.

I LOVE JOJO

You’re clearly downplaying just how many creative and interesting Stands—and battles involving them—there were in the previous parts. But I get what you mean, considering there are indeed fewer "punching ghosts" here.

Ozy

I don't mean to downplay them ofc my bad. I just find it refreshing how most stand fights doesn't revolve mainly on their humanoid stands.

I LOVE JOJO

Well, yes, this part really stands out in that regard—more than the others.

For some reason, every time i see the title for this series on Patreon, I think to myself "man wtf do we have them watching now?" and it takes me a second to realize it's Steel Ball Run lmfao

I LOVE JOJO

The anime gave Benjamin Boom Boom way more aura than the manga did. God, the art in this episode is divine—especially when he destroys the steel ball.

Bro is still stuck in Stardust Crusaders. And even then, there were many stands in that part that were not merely humanoid punching stands. Just look at the D'arby's.

Sanji Joestar

In Episode 2, there was a very weird scene where Mountain Tim picks up the button INSIDE the bottle with his rope. Most people miss it but it's a hint at him having an ability. And as we can see here it allows some sort of phasing through the rope.

The Boom Boom part is considered the 'weakest' part of SBR by some fans And it's already this good so get ready!

The Stands in Part 7 are able to be so unique since Araki's building off the whole story of Part 6 from here, like how Part 6 built off Part 5. P5 ended with Chariot Requiem and destroying the Sun behind your mind, so P6 can start with Manhattan Transfer & Whitesnake appearing in dreams within dreams. And this is why the attitude around Part skipping has been what it is

Fabulous

honestly this was needed after part 6. that part was way to bizzare for my liking

Fabulous

i was ignoring stone ocean cause i thought it was some random new anime lol
