Sanji Joestar

Ooh I love the livestream idea. Not sure how exactly it would work however. The Live with comments off while Discord's on the side could work.

Sanji Joestar

Fun Fact During these chapters Oda would draw the Pokemon Meltan hidden inside Kid's mechanic arm😂

Remi

weird is a very good way to describe this episode LOL

Sanji Joestar

It's really interesting to compare characterization when it comes to adaptation. Here Kid is laughing like a maniac while attacking Apoo and destroying the place. In the manga he's just pissed off the second he hears his voice and charges at him angry.

지원

yeah he's song is ass lmaoo but beat is fire tho

I remember this episode feeling very bizarre and awkward when it aired and I hate to say that opinion remains unchanged. Everything from the animation to the soundtrack (or lack thereof) to the direction and dialogue. It all feels just so stiff and unfinished. The constant snap cuts and close ups didn't help, as well as most characters being drawn way off model. Not to mention Apoo and Queen's awful rap lyrics and flow. Sorry I really didn't mean to yap so much about this, but man what a straight up confounding episode😵😬. I can't imagine this is how they intended the episode to be like, something must've happened with production behind the scenes.

Honestly you guys are spot on what you remember, a lot of us have watched/Read One piece many times, so our knowledge is locked in to remember most details. Compared to other reactors your like 100x better at remembering stuff.

GubleGuble

i would wacth u cooking some ochirokuuuu

BOLDcast

I appreciate that, but like… really ? We hear that kind of thing a lot and I hope it’s true, but I feel like we’re not THAT smart or anything, like are we actually better than the average reactor or do you guys just like us lol

Aditya Joshi

My GOAT Carson's suffering from Unc-zheimer's🥺

Capitano

Yup, this episode is just as bad as I remember it to be lol

Aditya Joshi

What you guys lack in memory, you more than make up for in predictive abilities imo. I can remember shit way better than you guys but I sure as hell never predicted Kanjuro being a good artist even when he was revealed to be the traitor (before he revealed his true artistic skill). You guys leveled up the Observation Haki skill tree instead of the lore skill tree

I watch a lot of different One Piece reaction channels, but in terms of entertainment, this channel is genuinely the best fit for me. It's my number one One Piece reaction channel, although I also really love Haylo & Kiss. Honestly, I'm amazed by how they can remember and connect things that happened hundreds of episodes ago. I genuinely don't understand how they manage to remember all of that, and it's really impressive. But that doesn't mean I think someone isn't interested in the show or has bad reactions just because they can't remember everything. To be honest, I think reaction channels face a lot more pressure than ordinary viewers, and that pressure can actually make it harder for them to simply enjoy the show naturally and wholeheartedly. I've rambled on for too long, but what I really want to say is that both of you are doing an amazing job on this channel, where One Piece is arguably the main focus. Honestly, I think the real joy of reaction channels for fans who genuinely love One Piece and reactions isn't about getting angry when someone forgets something. It's about getting to relive the emotions we felt during those truly sad, hilarious, or hype moments through someone else's perspective. In that regard, I genuinely think you two are among the very best when it comes to balancing your emotions, making predictions, and coming up with interesting theories that show how invested you are in the story, even when those theories turn out to be wrong.

Oussama Essamadi

Useless Henchman Mid fans when Useful Emperor Man fans walk in. Carson, you better know your place LMAO.

You remember a lot more than what I used to remember on first read, but a livestream sounds fun! I must say, unfortunately, one bad comment has way more power than 10 good ones, it's a psychology thing. But keep at it! Also, we don't watch for your remembering, at least from my side everyone watches for different reasons, but I do remember a lot since I've been reading and watching this story for 16 years, we watch for entertainment and analysis which is always fun. Soon you 'll have caught up and spoiler free (discounting manga episodes) discussions will be had, so keep at it is my point!

Arkham

Tbh I think that’s best saved for after this arc. They’re kind of in the middle of a lot. Before the raid wouldn’t have been a bad idea either

lionstooth

Hear me out, if you did the livestream thing do it Charlie Kelly style with literal threads/plots in the background. Fake ciggarettes, work shirts the whole bit.

Veritas

Don't worry, it makes a difference when someone watched the show 100 times vs only once. I used to forget things too before rewatching, it's just very long. Now I pair every chapter and episode with reactors and analysts to concentrate it. 986 is to this day my least favorite episode, direction-wise. The direction choices felt like they intentionally experimented. I give early eps grace because they were decades ago and this stands out in this era. Good news is I never felt this way again. As far as I recall, it's all uphill from here to the end.

Fabulous

skimmed through the whole reaction, there is nothing substantial happening in the whole ep lol. you can skip the episode and still not miss anything. i used to watch this ep at 1.5 speed

Fabulous

you guys might have discovered one piece. a lot of theories from earlier days were true. anything that’s not even reveled in manga, i think some of the theories have high chances to be true

Extra Crispy

You’re definitely in the top percentile lol. You remember/ understand most of what you should be remembering and a lot of stuff you shouldn’t. Sometimes you’ll remember or clock something and I’ll just be thinking “how in the hell…” 😂. Between the two of you someone will remember something in the moment and that’s enough. There are other reactors who I think are even more locked in but it’s not by a huge margin and you guys talk about different stuff than they do.

ratstorm

Genuinely, a lot (maybe most) of the reaction channels I've seen seem to forget things episode to episode. Also, you know what kind of story one piece is and what themes it's going for. I've seen channels get to the end of pretimeskip and still not know how the warlord system works because Mihawk doesn't seem too evil but the warlords are a villain group. Or judge character's based entirely on whether they are willing to make Luffy king of the pirates. So in both memory and (more importantly to me) media analysis I rate you guys quite highly.

I think the livestream idea is really good. If yall are willing to go the distance I think the best thing to do is to sit down and really summarize everything that you know about the notable figures in the world. To cast a broad net so that there isn't anything that is specifically pointed out that might clue yall in on what might be important going on into the future. Maybe it would be good to do one stream for Wano before things really start kicking off in the raid and one stream for after wano focusing on the current state of the world at large. I'd say the best would be to touch on for Wano in no particular order and with any level of detail that yall are comfortable with: The akazaya nine, any of the supernova, Kaido's allstars, initial thoughts on the tobi roppo, the members of the strawhats, the members of kozuki clan including toki, Big Mom & Kaido and their respective crews, wano lore in general, what you think the larger implications of this conflict are to the world at large. I'd say focusing on things like who has relationships with who, the current character arcs and where you think they will go, the history of the characters, and the character's motivations and drive (probably the most important one).

Artemis

This is one of those episodes that felt very off, to the expressions of certain characters, camera work, extended rap music sequences, ect. Well not every single episode in this arc is god tier but i think what is really interesting about wano arc is that there is a massive collaboration of distinct artists, story boarding and animation directors involved which is why you get such a diverse range of artistic choices and productions presented throughout the story.

Artemis

I am going to spoil the next Chapter/Episode. It is called 'Useless captain Mid'

Solas

Apoo really messed up luffy and zoro in the manga too, his ability is confusing to fight against

ChocoBoshi

Id be totally down to help out with a live stream of any sort! that sounds like a ton of fun!

Gamemetrician

If you are truly worried about spoilers, then I don't think you should do the livestream with people filling you in on past details. I've read the manga twice and watched most of the anime, and you both remember a lot more details than me. A lot of people in the broader OP community (and most fandoms in general) try to push a single way that a story/media has to be consumed to do it the "right way". But from my perspective, you both have more than enough information to understand and enjoy the rest of the story so far. And on top of that, the anime (and even the manga sometimes) is constantly adding flashbacks to previous scenes as reminders about requisite story details. But if you feel like you would enjoy it more by getting a refresher, then I think it would be worth doing.

Gamemetrician

As an alternative idea, you could maybe do a livestream jeopardy/trivia thing with you two as contestants and with story questions given by your mods or discord members.

Szonin

At some point you for sure gotta rewatch ep. 400, 497 and few others in the future.

idziman

So Kid's recollection of what was happening was three flashbacks stitched into one. The "falling out" was happening when Kid first called Hawkins & Apoo to their hideout. They then agreed to an alliance with the goal of taking down Shanks. Their crews were actually celebrating and partying together when Kaido crashed into the hideout. So the anime just made it look like they were fighting when he crashed in.
