luffy learnt the adv armament haki which the old man taught him about as he can hurt kaido but wasn't enough , what luffy learnt now against kaido that kaido have conquerors haki but the conquerors haki also can be used to infuse the attacks whether by fists or weapons which makes the attacks even stronger , conquerors haki also can be used as a defense to coat the whole body with conquerors haki to tank the attacks , that's a huge power up for luffy.

I'll be honest as a manga reader i don't like this episode. Too much effects that you can't even properly see luffy isn't touching kaido

actually the fight is over next episode and the rest of the 60 eps of Wano is just Usopp scamming people in the flower capital✌️😭

Last Ep we saw Zoro infuse his attack with conquers. Thats how Kaido knew he had it. Before now, Conquers was something the strongest willed people had and could knock out fodder in a 360 degree shockwave. Now we see it being utilized as an all encompassing haki from coating themselves and weapons to using like an invisible “energy beam/force” in ways, like Rayleigh did to elephant at start of training. Luffy is now infusing his Ryuo with it, just like Oden, Whitebeard, Roger…. “Only a handful of strong men could do it.”

emotionally this a great episode, but I really find the choice to put so many effects that you can't even see that when Luffy and Kaido clash they aren't touching and when Luffy hits Kaido with the uppercut he isn't touching him. Also I think the reason so many people get confused and thinks its just Ryo is because they keep putting Old Man Hyogaro on the screen when they should have done an overlay or flash to when Roger and Whitebeard clashed and their weapons weren't touching. That would have been more impactful and would have better shown this moment of growth and how it puts him in the class of those pirates now.
