Penelope & Colin? Really??? Hell after they were able to turn me around on the Queen, I trust Bridgerton to make me fall in love with anyone. That's right baby, we're back in horny town with a third season of one of my favorite shows!

So season 3 is very different compared to the books. Penelope (age 28) and colin (age 33) dont fall in love till 10 years in to the future. No dating lessons or anything. But Colin starts falling in love with her slowly cause once penelope is officially on the shelf, she stops caring and he's starts seeing her for who she is, and she even knocks him down a peg. but the main thing they really put from the books is the hand injury scene, the first kiss scene, and the carriage scene. Its a very simple book, which is why they are my fave couple. but I had to watch the series like 4 times to convince myself that the way shondaland wrote the story is working/convincing </3

I agree, that the other seasons hit more. Another thing to remember is that this has a different showrunner compared to the first two seasons. which is why the vibe is so much more differentt. but gotta wait for the 50% of the show to really judge it fully </3 and they made anthony and kate disappear by making them go on another honeymoon lol

I don't hate this season, but I haven't been as excited about it as I was for the first two. Part of me is still agitated that they skipped over Benedict, who's my favorite. Also never been a fan of Polin especially after the way Penelope betrayed Eloise last season. I have read this book though, and I'm slightly more excited for the drama that will unfold in the second half of the season if they do it right...

I love this season so far and I think they're really interesting dynamics this season BUT the hot air balloon part was so stupid. I literally wish I could delete it.

Idk, I buy it cause I'm biased. My own relationship started similarly. I had a crush on my close friend for a while and I confessed to him. He kissed me and it set us off towards something amazing. We had our ups and downs but we just got married last year 🥰 (also why friends to lovers is my fav)

yes i think i mentioned that feeling of suddenly being attracted to someone after a dream, etc, but in this case colin's lack of interest in penelope feels TOO FRESH

I feel like they should've done more show than tell cause he *says* he hasn't been able to eat or sleep for weeks but they don't show it so I totally understand, it feels rushed or unearned, but I also didn't have a super visceral reaction to the "you don't count" scene cause I remember our friend group making a joke about my now husband dating me and them saying it would never happen. MONTHS later we started dating, not weeks, it took time and hanging out together

i do think they should’ve done a better job at showing that he did see a bit of interest before the kiss and before debling, but all of his seemingly sudden behavior is confirming that colin is demi. pen & colins dynamic for the pst two seasons would’ve been considered improper and considered courting. it just took the last bit of physical connection for colin to realize that he is physically & emotionally interested in her

In the books, they get together when they're older after years apart. The kiss does happen and ignite their whole romance but it's a little better because Penelope thinks she's going to be a spinster (with more reason because she's like 30, if I remember correctly), so she's asking an old friend she used to have a crush on for a kiss so she can move on and prepare for life alone. she doesn't beg him as much lol. kinda similar, but of course they had to change things because despite our Penelope actress being 37, she does not look it and the show is not exactly the big time-skip kind

Bridgerton Drinking Game- drink whenever they say mama or mamas I agree that should’ve been Pen’s dream! Colin is doing semi-regular 3somes, it doesn’t make sense his dream would be so tame and also it was from Penelope’s POV! That would’ve made the following scene more poignant- we know Pen is drawing away despite her strong longings, but then Colin shows interest through his obvious reluctance to stop charm lessons. That would let the audience know that offscreen he’s been thinking about it. Then the jealousy & cake moments would continue showing the progression of Colin’s interest. But instead the dream feels like a big convenient leap and those little moments justify it after the fact. Also Eric you should be proud, I instinctively yelled GO TIGERS when I saw that vest 😂

In case anyone is curious Lord Debling is referencing a scripture from the Bible w/the camel analogy. Otherwise it does seem super random 😂 I don’t know the exact phrasing but Jesus says something like It’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich dude to get into heaven Relatable though because I’d say it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for me to buy Conelope the way the show is choosing to do it🥲 it’s a pity because I do think the actors are doing fantastic

this season just feels like its lacking especially in comparison to the beauty that was the second. the kanthony chemistry is absolutely unmatched we were robbed of them this season! hoping for at least a little in the second half

I just realised that you can see a cast on Eloise's arm in some of her scenes. I'm pretty sure the actor broke her arm while filming. Funny the things that can go unnoticed .
