Speaking of triangles...

Micah & I have watched plenty of people raid tombs, but we've never actually watched the Tomb Raider movies! After going through the National Treasure movies and hours upon hours of various Librarians outings, we're pretty sure we'll feel right at home.

Angelina Jolie stars as the titular (heh) Lara Croft in the original, as well as its sequel The Cradle of Life, and passes the baton to Alicia Vikander for the woke* reboot. Featuring The Man of a Thousand Races himself Jon Voight, one of the James Bonds, and less tombs than you'd expect, these movies take us on a thrilling journey through the changing times of video game adaptations!

*less focus on boobs 🙄

I saw the Alicia vikander one in theaters and idk if that was simply when i learned how nice it is to go to the movies alone in the middle of a business day, but i remember thinking it was alright. I also think Alicia vikander is still pretty hot so idk if we can trust my impartial assessment. Never saw these as a kid and didn't play the games, all i knew was angelina jolie was "the lady with the big lips everyone says is hot" lmao. I was literally 8, so i had no opinion on that

This was the time when Jolie was dating Billy Bob Thornton, and they had this bizarre thing of wearing vials of each other's blood on necklaces in all public appearances, and always went out of their way to point it out. I've always kind of wondered what happened to those after they broke up.

I absolutely love the video games especially the recent trilogy from a decade ago, and I absolutely hate this fucking movie! I am SO excited for this! Can’t wait to watch this next time I’m drunk 😭

No spoilers! I only saw the 2018 one, and I thought it was pretty fun; it’s fun seeing how both the Jolie one and that newer one are both pulling from the games, in that the old ass games had insane shit like fighting statues and absurd goals, whereas the newer games are more about the survival aspect.

From what I remember from the OG games the plot of the first one had something to do with Atlantis. The second game, started in Venice, Italy and there are monks involved

I dont care what anyone says, this movie was on repeat in my bedroom. my stepdad used to play lara croft on ps2 and id watch him play it all but the time, but this movie will always be a 5/5 for me. Argue with ya mama.
