Sidney Prescott is BACK! Again. Didn't we do this two movies ago??

Anyway, Scream 7 brings back some of our favorite old characters for better or worse, as well as a buncha new characters we don't give a shit about, and also a coupla characters from the previous two movies that are probably not active in the Core Four group chat anymore.

I wanna say this franchise should take another break... but then I look at the box office and I guess I'll see ya again soon for Scream 8, 9, & X!

PS. It's just tap water.

This movie actually has the exact opposite central problem as the third one. There, it's how ridiculous it was that there could be technology that perfectly replicates any voice you want, especially back then. And now, it's so obvious what kind of technology could be making a fake Stu that the movie is forced to have Sidney immediately figure it out so she doesn't look like a total idiot. And then still tries to play it as a twist (plus the tech guy going out of his way to make Nancy and Roman look decades older for no apparent reason).

Apparently this script was a plan C idea, which is crazy! Definitely shows 😬

The only thing I will tolerate if they do another is if they do one where multiple pairs of killers are going for the crew. I want to see Ghostface vs Ghostface.

Not to sound like Tarantino but holy hell the Matthew Lillard parts were AWFUL. I’m sure their defense for it is that it was ridiculous on purpose since it wasn’t actually Stu but jeez I still had to sit through it lmao And I like him but man…

One thing I'll give this movie: after so long of this series embracing that absolutely everyone is a suspect, they never once try to convince us it's Mark, as if his years with Sidney and having kids was all some insane long con.

saw this is in IMAX with my brother and we could NOT hold our laughter when the boyfriend delivered his first line; so bad! also smallest crowd ever for opening week at 9pm

Mindy is an insufferable character. She's easily the worst part of Scream 5, really shouldn't have survived Scream 6, and is dialed all the way up to Max cringe in Scream 7. I feel like Chad is a better substitute for the Randy character. He knows how the rules to horror movies work, but he isn't constantly berating you with endless meta speak. He actually feels like a real character and not a walking movie reference machine. And he isn't seemingly uncaring about his friends being in danger. Also I think you and me both had the general same reaction to the movie. You knew that if they brought back Stu it would be stupid. However you were kind of rooting for it because even though it would be completely dumb and jump the shark, at least it wouldn't be boring and lazy like a dumb AI reveal. And at least we would actually get to see Matthew Lillard back and not in front of a phone camera. I wouldn't be surprised, that if in Scream 8, they just end up saying that Stu really did live. Yes it would be kind of diminishing returns, but who really cares at this point?

I know you trashed Joel McHale, and obviously you were just joking. But it's really strange that the actual comedic actor in the movie, is one of the few people taking the material somewhat seriously and not constantly cursing in every single scene he's in. Actually plays it fairly straight, and I liked his character even if he was barely in the movie. Seems like he would have played the Randy type character or even ghostface in one of the earlier movies.

This felt more like a stab movie than a scream movie
