In 2016 we had the worst summer ever in Denmark. At least for photography. It was grey, stormy, and frequently rainy, none of which is conducive for photography in nature.

I made a Facebook casting about a cold, wet rain shoot the next day where meteorologists had promised heavy rain in pure frustration.

To my surprise, I had three models eager to participate, so we set out to meet in the Danish harbor and shot this set. Amanda Alicia was one, the other two doesn't model anymore so I'll leave them anonymous.

When shooting in overcast weather, which generally has very flat light, it's all about creating some direction.

That means to get as close as possible to some structure, so light is not coming from that direction.

It's the same principle as when I use V-Flats or black foam core boards in the studio.

It's not to reflect light, but to block it off from one direction, so light is only coming from another direction.

The wet pavement does give a very interesting background. For the images where the model is in the splits, are you on a balcony above her? Very interesting vantage point. And, love the last "BTS" type ones at the end.

Hey There, yes I'm approximately 1 cointainer up to be able to shoot down. I always try to explore a location from all possible angles to find the most interesting angles.
