Six-seven weeks ago, I booked a summer lodge and persuaded this model, who prefer to remain anonymous to join me. It was pretty cold outdoor, as you can gather from the snow on the video, but in one of the bedrooms, we could open the door, and due to the direct sun, we could make a few outdoor-like images in the doorway.

I set up my phone to shoot a bit of BTS from this shot.

When shooting in direct light, using a light coat of oil to make the body shiny makes all the difference in capturing beautiful luminescent skin.

Oli makes the skin change character, so it is no longer matte and thus only shows depth by light and shade, but now also will reflect light sources and thus create a more extensive dynamic range.

Hello Thomas, which kind of oil do you recommend? Sunscreen oil would work to make the body shiny?

I prefer Coconut oil. It’s organic (you can eat it) and you can have it in solid form or as spray (for cooking)

That’s a great BTS to see the conditions you both were working in to create the wonderful artwork.
