When I was printing my first book, The Graces, in Riga, I had scheduled a couple of shoots around that, and this is one of the shoots I did - with Sasha.

Her face is so charismatic that if I saw one of her pictures today and had not known better, I would think it was an AI-generated image.
It’s almost too perfect if there is such a thing…

All these are shot in natural light from the window in the background, with a white reflector on the left side to wrap the light a bit more around.

As a funny aside, they were shot with my old NEX-7 APS-C camera, which looked like a toy camera to many. But it performed beautifully with a 32mm and 50mm ƒ 1.8, as you can see here.

Gorgeous images, spectacular model. I tell all my photographer friends, it's not the camera that makes the picture. In many cases, our own old and inexpensive cameras are more capable than the gear used by Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, etc. But what images they captured!

Absolutely true. And we can talk about photographing “normal” women all day, but in the end it’s undeniable that some people (men and women) are considered beautiful and we all are attracted to beauty. Given a choice of photographing, say, Michelle Pfeiffer or any other woman her age, it’s an easy choice. The strange thing is that is is so tiny differences in facial features that make the difference, yet they are hard to define verbally.
