This sounds like a round-up month (and perhaps there is a bit of truth to that), and this is indeed a round-up, too. The last image I judged to be worthy of retouch.

Perhaps I should explain how I go about selecting and retouching images:

I can quickly get bored, so I never retouch everything from a shoot at once.

Instead, I make the selection, cull the shoot down to the best 20-50 images, edit a series, and leave the rest.

Then I work on one of the other 20-30 shoots I still have images on and alternate between them.

At some point, If I don’t feel there are any “nuggets of gold” left, I archive the rest of a shot.

If only a couple of images are left from a set, this is what ends up as a round-up.

I’m sure many models hate that I can take up to a year or even more to finish a shoot. Ideally, they would love to have everything within a few weeks.

On the other hand, they also love that I keep producing more images from a shoot.

Interesting approach. Sounds like a good method to be sure you get everything out of a shoot that you can.

I essentially do the same thing. I rate the images and select my initial faves (and the model's favs) to retouch. But it's such a common thing for me to revisit a shoot 6 months or even 2 years later and see images that inspire me now that didn't initially. The models are thrilled to see new images out of the blue long after the shoot.
