August Monthly Update (Patreon)
Content
Summer is officially gone! (By some definitions. Whatever.) Let's see what got done in August!
Songs of the Spellbound Sea: We are printing! Still. Last month's update said the same thing, but then, printing takes time. We had a small scramble around the start because US customs added some new (extralegal) requirements, but the changed landed in time; otherwise it would've resulted in a couple grand worth of stickering the books. I did finish up the 2024E conversion guidelines last month, which I need to release via a Kickstarter update this week sometime.
Patreon: Some decent growth here, which is good to see! This month's design notes was the absolutely massive How to Write a Spell. Patreon free growth has really been very steady for a few months now, which is great to see.
Discord: Just a bit.
Social Media: Mild growth on Bluesky.
Troubadour, Swashbuckler, Bloodrager: I still haven't cut the ~final releases, because InDesign is very annoying. In the queue to get to.
Necromancer: The Necromancer hit v0.8, adding the Graveguarded subclass, some big survivability boosts to minions and some small changes (mostly buffs) throughout the class.
Supporters got two new subclasses this month, the Boneshaper and the Blackblood! The Boneshaper arms its allies and minions with cursed-bone weaponry, while the Blackblood has an intuitive grasp of blood magic to augment its necromantic power.
Some progress on the foundry module, but nothing release-worthy yet.
Subclasses: This month saw the College of the Canvas, a painterly bard subclass.
Magic Items: Last month's supporter poll was a magic item pack; it's running a bit behind, I should get to it next week.
What's in store for September?
Kickstarter: Production continues, and I should make progress on the last few deliverables. I expect we'll get stuff onto the boat but not yet in backers' hands.
Classes: Necromancer v0.9 should be out very soon, probably this week. (It's a smaller update than 0.8 was, though). I've actually gotten all the core subclasses done, so it'll probably mostly be refinement on the core here. Supporters are likely to see either the Resurrectionist or Spiritualist. I'm also hoping to get a proper public release out for the Necromancer, with pretty styling, actual advertisement, all the good stuff.
Polls: Last day to vote in the polls! The subclass poll has a close race between the Timewinder rogue, Twisted fighter, and Way of Steel monk. Meanwhile, our supporter-only poll is for a new subclass for my other classes! The Powderburn bloodrager is currently in the lead, but it would only take a couple votes to sway things.
