March 2023 Progress Report (Patreon)

An update on how things went in March, and what's on deck for April!

Troubadour: Pushed back the v1.0 to April sometime. Got writer's block on the Wildheart subclass, and still need to do a couple more spells and the magic items.

Swashbuckler: Entering beta tomorrow with the v0.7.1 release. This month included some balancing, the Trickster subclass, two appendices, and a major rework to Panache generation.

Subclasses: 4/4. Got the Oath of Purgation paladin done (releasing next month). Spider-Blooded sorcerer, Way of Progress monk, and Rimeblade rogue all released. Rereleased the Weave Warden ranger.

Spells: Omega and I are off to a great start on Spells That Don't Suck - good reception to the first 16, and are making good progress on the next release (which should, I think, clock in at 41 spells, thanks to the addition of some of KibblesTasty's to the set). 

Other stuff: Launched a discord, got this patreon mostly ready to launch, got a website mostly ready to launch. Still waiting on art for those last two.

Setbacks: Wasn't counting on my reddit account getting mistakenly suspended for spam (I suspect but can't prove it was trolls annoyed at the Spells That Don't Suck release). Got it fixed quickly enough, though. Also wasn't planning on blowing through my art budget way faster than expected, but initial art investment for the patreon & website makes some sense.

The plan for April:

Troubadour: Keep cruising to v1.0. Finish the Wildheart, add those spells, make the magic items index. Start getting art in so I can start stripping off the MtG art.

Swashbuckler: Probably just aiming for one subclass next month. Hoping to get more playtest reports so I can keep iterating on the Panache system.

Subclasses: Oath of Purgation should go out next week. Not sure what my other targets we'll be yet. I should do a Bard sub, Frost and Poison clerics are near the top of the list, Oath of Solidarity's started but currently has writer's block. I might also take another tilt at the Circle of Feathers, and I would like to get to my next joke sub. I may also take a stab at the Buccaneer rogue. The target's probably just Purgation + 2 for April, though, because...

Species: Two species are coming up as well! We'll get the ~final release of the Spiderfolk species, as well as the release of the Ruin-Touched lineage (and, in collaboration with idbn, the Ruin-Touched Corsairs faction).

Spells: Next discord release  is targeted for April 4, with the next reddit release for April 18 (that'll be the 41-spell set).

Other stuff: This patreon & the website should launch properly once I've got art back for them both! And once the patreon gets launched, some of those subs & species will get put to a poll, and the Archmage slot will open up for commissions.
