Print Tips

I recommend 4 walls, especially for the strength of the neck links.

This was printed with Overture Matte Light Brown and Stained. Check out the tutorial my wife put together here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrdBQQEtzvM

I also put together a list of materials I often use on my Dinos, including the stain, spray and glue to finish off the project. https://amzn.to/3VmEO9C

After printing the other version and filling the plate, it stands at 15 inches …makes me really want to print this guy!

Jim Bishop

Very cool. Cannot wait to print this one

Earl Brim

How many rolls of filament to print at this size?

3DPrintINK

This is so cool!!! Is there any way to get a version for large format printers where the pelvis isnt separate?

S&J

We just printed the regular version and the design for neck is fantastic!! Can't wait to print the xxl version! Our XXL dinos have taken over our playroom!

Sasdesign

Wow . Looks great

Mark

This is my favorite out of all the XXL models

Brian - geepsmakes

I know what I'm printing for the granddaughter this weekend.

LuckySpoon

Love the banana for scale 🤣

Dan

Is the shape different? The way that I cut it is so it can maximize on the build plate regardless of the size of plate you have. Does that make sense?

Dan

Roughly two.

Im printing on an H2S which can easily fit the pieces at the current scale, so with that, I was wondering if you could put the "torso" and "pelvis" pieces together so they would have to be glued together after printing. I have the two pieces lined up in the slicer and they definitely would fit. This way I could avoid the seam line and extra gluing. Thank you!!!

David Long

Made a few extra cuts and mine at 650% is going now.

Cindy

Do u think that for the next XXL can it be the triceratops

Inish

Oh my DINO! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love the banana touch! It looks soo awesome. Great job! 👍

Dan Firek

You know if you make a dog skull and re shape the feet you'll have a dog skeleton also a cat can be made too.

Dan

The extra large versions always require glue. They are cut in pieces and you would need to glue them together. You can also choose the uncut version which will not be as large but you can maximize to your print bed and then you will not have to glue it.

Donald Holloway

Does this print with no supports at this scale?

Dan

I suggest no supports.

MaddieMadeBoutique

Where did you find the regular version. I cant find it 😭

Helen Williams

oh lm thinking l need this bit by bit my house looks like a bloody toy shop lol

S&J

It's just 1 post below 😊

jaziel carmona

what do you mean when you say "cut in pieces".

michael alfaro

for the XXL one...we don't need to scale up, we just print at the size in the download? it says the scale is 100% and i don't want to mess it up. thanks!

Dan

I provided a 3mf project file that maximizes the x1c plate and similar sizes. The STL is cut and you can make it as big as you like depending on your print bed. You won't mess anything up as long as you scale each piece the exact same amount. For example if you scaled a 200% then each piece needs to be 200%

Dan

The XL version is the original cut into pieces so you print each of them and glue together. Unlike the main model which comes in one full body

michael alfaro

thank you for your help! our machine maxed out at 300% but it's still massive!

Attila

Do you have an stl of the bone or banana for the dino's? Thanks in advance.

Attila

One more (possibly noob) question. Are there 2 dinos one one plate in the 100% version?

Dan

On the 3mf file I did put two on the plate because it is more efficient. If you delete one of them or change the size to add more, please just make sure you add enough of the short and tall links for the neck there are two different types of links and one is labeled small and one is labeled large as you click on them you will see those.

Dan

I have an STL for a banana for the monkey, but any bananas that are used in photos or just real:-) I also have bones for other dinos that are included but for this release it is a branch.

Sharon Latham

This is the question, ive been looking for. Rhank you, for asking it Earl.

Christine Whelan

I'm getting ready to start staining the T-Rex ... any hints on how long it takes your wife to do the XXL ones? I want to make sure I have enough time set aside! Also does she stain them in pieces or as a whole once put together?

Bekah

I’m a new member. Is there a link to download this and the xxl trex? I’d love to print them after I get done printing the xxl paralophosaurus. What other xxl Dino’s do you have?🙂

Dis

Can we get a dilophosaurus next please? I have people begging for it. XXL would also be amazing.

Amity Woodford

How do i get the file for this if I've just joined? I've looked and haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Dan

For the xl version she usually stains in pieces and then glues together. She stains it and lets it sit for about an hour or more and then starts removing the stain and uses alcohol to create the highlighted areas. So it's usually about 3 hours total

Dan

This is an older Public Release so it is in 40% off discount section. Anything outside of what is offered for the month is available at a discount if you'd like to purchase them. In the pinned post at the top of the page it says One Stop Shop and there's a discount 40% off section there with links and codes :-)
