For this month's bonus, I made a little "Lovebug" to help celebrate Valentine's day. 💘Just like the Exclusive ladybug... the wings print separate and slide in, so those without AMS have color options. Print tips and Info:

STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project.

I print with .12 or .16 layer height for quality.

As usual, make sure you have good adhesion, especially for the small wing footprint. A glue stick works or I have switched to using on all my machines... a BIQU Cryopgrip Frostbite adhesion plate.

Magnets are imbedded so you must put a stop in the slice to place the magnets (just above the point where it fills), slice again before sending to the printer.

I printed with: Ziro Magenta, Anycubic Red, Overture Purple, and Sunlu White

I notice the red and white ladybug in the picture is painted differently than the released one. Any way to include that one as well? I tried painting it similar but had issues getting the mixture of the colors, like the back of the head white and the heart antenna's red.

Easy work around on the provided 3mf... make slot 1 white, and slot 2 red. Delete the other slots and simply paint the eyes :) But I also added the 2 color version if anyone wants it :)

Dan, did you crank up the flushing volume on the red and white?

I did not. But I do print at .12 so I believe it adjusts as needed on the bambu.

I am very new to printing and have never made anything with magnets. When you say slice again, do you have to go back to the prepare in bambu studio to do so or when it pauses you can put the magnets in and push resume?

After you place the pause you just have to hit the slice button again. Otherwise it won't hold that pause setting.

what size can the be scaled up to safely?

Hi Dan, I love the lovebug as much as the ladybug! What is the smallest scale you recommend for printing them?

I only printed at 100% due to the magnets. And of course some detail will be lost if you go too small (.08 or .12 recommended) . 60% or larger is my go to smallest for strength. Those little feet will need great adhesion!

11 hours for 2? Is that correct or am I doing something wrong ?

It depends on your machine, settings, materials etc. But if you are purging several colors it could take at least that long. You can hop on discord and share your settings in troubleshoot for some feedback :)

I printed one with the magnets and came out so cute. Printed another and the initial layers before the magnet hole did not print the beginning layers in the holes. It paused to put the magnet in but no bottom to hold magnet. Not sure why it differed. TIA

The bugs are little... about 1.5 inches. But you can also add to the slicer and measure directly :)

I have two versions in the 3mf... one with and one without holes. Make sure to use the magnet version. also, you have to add the pause yourself and that pause will stay in your slicer settings if you load multiple files. So you may have loaded the non hole version? And one last thing... if you change the mesh by separating the item it will remove the holes. (if you don't know what I mean by "separating" than it does not apply to you hahaha).
