After several successful test prints of the Beta, turns out I had nothing to worry about.

The attached file is the exact same file with "_beta" removed

Thanks again-Dan

NeoKoi Prints

It looks and prints absolutely great

trident print

Just finished mine last night of the beta version it turned out beautifully.

Bland Things

Already printing one at 200%! (Look at your FB tags)

R&D 3D Printing

I’ve got one printed already and working on the next.

Justin Downs

I have already printed both a “fire” and “ice” version already and have to say this is got to be my favorite model of all the amazing stuff that you have done. Can’t wait to print even more.

Dustie Chase

It's an amazing print as expected. Never fail to impress

Shayla Anthony

I'm so happy to hear that there were no major changes, because I may have printed a decent amount of them in hopes no one else was noticing any issues too :) Lovely print, very well done!

Andrew Acevedo

Had no problems with Beta test, Not even a brim for the small wing parts. Good work!!

Trina Fenton

What are yall using for infill on this? Can I get away with 10

Ryan Sumner

My ONLY issue is that when standing him up, his feet want to give way and he falls on his belly

SirPrintsAlot3D

I use 15 with no issue, I'm sure 10 would probably be okay. I use 3 walls though

Kristof De Putter

I did 8% grid on 100% print and it´s fine. 3 walls of 0.6

SirPrintsAlot3D

Make sure that you push the feet all the way together and that shouldn't happen. Seems to stand better on surfaces that have a little give to them. Like I put one on a paper towel to take a picture and it stood up right a lot better compared to the wooden kitchen table I was using But as long as those feet are practically touching, I haven't had issues with it falling over

Trina Fenton

Awesome. Now... do you think he can be scaled down a bit and still function? Like 70%

Print3dReality

i use 10% infill for 3 different sizes, all worked fine

Adam Nagus

Printing this now using 7 colour print on the Bambu Lab X1CC. 17 hour print at 100%, hope it looks good!

Clint Vail

It printed fine on my v2 and did the same filament as shown. Looks awesome.

Kim Radatz

This is awesome!!! Hoping I can figure out my machine and make some of these. I’m loving everyone else’s prints.

Corey Serrins

The legs will off balance from side to side for me, but otherwise great print!!

Dan

Nope. No supports needed.

Tony Bohn

just curious, how are you guys getting beta prints to run? is there something I can join to get access? If anyones willing to share - THANKS

Chelsea Passen

im super new to the 3d printing world, Is there a certain trick to getting your prints to print smooth? mine seem to have some rough spots on the points of prints. Is there a good method to cleaning them up afterwards to help remove the little burrs and imperfections?

Gotwood Customs & 3D Prints

its all about tuning your printer each one needs to be setup and configured it takes time to figure out what is needed. i would start with some calibrations retract bed leveling and so on. it all takes time but its worth it

Allen Smith

Awesome, I've printed 2 of the Beta's without issue, so good to know that no changes were needed!

Allen Smith

BTW, I wanted to add, one was at 100% the other at 85% with no issues.

William Hargraves

Only issue I had was with the first one and that's user error nothing to do with the model i had just clean my glass bed and of course cause I was too excited to print it I forgot to put glue down still only one feather came unstuck and I caught it before I left the house luckily . Bit disappointed but I should do it properly next time and not rush 😆

Carla Schrum

I now have 4 of them printed and all turned out perfect

cutiepieme3d

Omg I can’t wait…. As soon as I have a free printer I’ll print it … woot woot

David Jon Sieben

You Beta this one ;-) We used a dual filament red/gold turned out another gem!

Andrew Smith

Already gave one to my nephews! Beta printed awesome first try

Dan

Make sure and join the discord. We have a troubleshooting channel, lots of help and suggestions there.

Dan

Not sure I understand your question. File is available and ready to go :)

Tony Bohn

I see comments almost immediately after it's posted with people saying they have printed two of them already and they work great. Or other things implicating they printed them before you had even posted it. Just wondering how

Pollyanna Wells

Ok thank you. I wasn't sure if that was it or not. Love your link, I'm following it. Thank you again

Corey Serrins

It actually would be nice to have that information provided with the release of the different models. Maybe a "suggested" settings section.

Zombie Saint

Yeah, mine printed flawlessly first time. You did an excellent, top-rate job Dan

Usman Naeem

This and the dragon are your best models to date. Love the Phoenix.

Alaric Otey

this was great. printed perfect first time

Tracy K

I’ve printed it at 65% scale, and I set my slicer setting for “X-Y contour compensation” to -0.05 (negative). This is in Bambu Studio which is based on PrusaSlicer I think, which I believe has a similar option. I think the related option in Cura would be “horizontal expansion”. I have not tried with anything other than Bambu though. That setting just slightly reduces the size of the parts, so the joints don’t fuse. At 80% with the same compensation, the joints moved easily from the start. At 65% the feathers just needed a gentle twist to loosen. I might set it a bit lower if I do 65% again, but it turned out fine (with my printer/filament/etc - your mileage may vary!)

Tracy K

My smaller ones have more trouble standing up, and I’m wondering now if it’s because I used lightning infill. That could cause it to be slightly unbalanced. I might try with a different infill and see if it ends up being more balanced. 🤔

Clint Vail

Printed great.. amazing model sir! Thank you so much for all your hard work.

Tony Bohn

well ive got a few to run absolutely perfectly, and wanted to say thanks! Still curious how some are running them before they get posted here. I see you mention discord in comments here, do they see pre-release there? Just wondering, and really admire your work! THANKS

David Gorelick

Printed four of these so far, thanks for such a great model!

Marc

I was a little nervous about this model, but I’ve printed three so far and they print flawlessly!

Lastchance

imprimer a 70% au lieu des 100% est impeccable ! Juste les ailles sont un peu coller entre elle mais ça se décolle facilement. Ne pas imprimer en dessous sinon ca risque d'etre plus difficile

William Hargraves

nothing ever wrong with your prints mate. Only problems will ever be user error . Dont forget your glue ahahahahahaha

Madonna Erwin

absolutely love this one!! prints beautifully

Dan

So much glue :) Thank you!

Toni D

I LOVE THIS!

Caitlin Nobles

just curious how long is it taking to print the phoenix at %100?

Danielle Fourie

depending on your settings mine took around 20 hours

drav3n76

20% infill at 100% scale takes me 4 hr and 41 mins, printing on a flsun sr running klipper

3dpaintig

Bellissimo modello

Hanni White

i put your settings for my ender 3 pro. my time is double yours. cant figure it out

Alexandre Vercammen

Did you notice the .6mm nozzle? I did forget to mention a layer height of .4mm a well... I like the lack of smoothness from the layers as it gives the model more dimension/texture. BTW, I've printed 3 of them @ 120% on my Ender Pro using Silk PLA. Each takes 13h15!

paulene schmedeke

i have been buying your prints on cults. so glad i now found your page. your so creative

Mike Blaze

Just finished printing it and it is fantastic!!!

Shawn Springer

I can't wait to print this. I am so excited.

Alexandre Vercammen

What is the brand filament you've used on this picture and the crocodile?

Elli

where is the stand?

Dan

The stands are in a separate post...but also all of the files are in the December Downloads post :)
