It's FriYAY!!!I loved making this model. So much fun detailing all the bones and extras. It is mostly print-in-place due to the opening mouth... but no glue or supports needed, ever. I Included a bone to hold in the mouth as well as a display stand. One very cool feature is that the head tilts back and locks into the first neck joint to make it look like it's roaring (might take a little practice at first) 😉Printing tips:- Tested 160% down to 50%. Don't forget the smaller you go, the more fragile the links get.I provided a curved version to scale up!- 15% infill, 3 walls, .12 layer heightThe colored files are provided and I will update photos as my other prints complete. I didn't want to wait any longer to get this out :)I found the matte PLA prints so smoothly for this model. Here is a list of filament I used above:* OVERTURE rock pla on the dino* ANYCUBIC Grey for the stand* POLYMAKER muted white for the bonesHappy Printing -Dan

It seems like your designs are getting more and more detailed with each passing month and I love it. This one is a home run for sure.

Jerry Penna

Love it. About to start printing it now!

Zombie Saint

Oh you're a legend mate 👍 he's gonna be fun to scale up 🤩

John Austin

Going on the printer this weekend.

Darknynja

And thank you for providing the zip file that includes all files. It makes life so much easier when you don't have to download each individual file.

Mark Tuttle

Awesome as always, thanks

Todd Sipala

Love this. Can’t wait to print it tomorrow. And the stand too. Nice addition Dan.

CLR Designs

Thank you Dan, Looking forward to printing.

Ellen Barlow

David Wettlaufer

prefect timing... was just looking for my next print. On the printer now! love it.

John Whitcomb

Too Cool. Can't wait to get printing this awesome T REX!! Thank you for all your time and hard work Dan :)

Jason

Thank you its awesome! His eyes do make it look like he got hit in the head with a 2x4 though. LOL

Christopher Head

Your models always work great on Ludacris mode. Thank you

Dan

It's a skeleton, so officially, it probably wouldn't have eyes. But I'm sure the way I light and photograph makes them look different than the actual print.

Melanie Olson

That totally looks like "if a T-Rex was a Golden Retriever"

SneakySmurf

Awesome! First print I broke the connector piece trying to get the head on though. It's very tight. I printed it on the bambu with dry filament. So it hung in there for a bit but finally snapped when I forced it too much. Broke on the part that meets the body.

Dan

I went back and forth on that. And working on an alternative just in case this happens to others. I did go with a tighter version after test printing on various machines because it ultimately worked better. But stay tuned, I may make a couple small tweaks as I get feedback.

CWP 3D

is there anyway to get rid of the eye balls?

SneakySmurf

Nice. I heated up the h ad for the other couple and was able to get them on easier. Thanks Dan.

Adam Linthicum

A hollow skull version would be awesome!

Karyl

I hadn't ever noticed it on other models, but love the FLEXI FACTORY on the bottom of this one!! Great piece, one we needed, but may not have realized how much!

Dan

Not sure about that. I will have to see how it looks. Takes away the character in the design and makes it scarier, in my opinion. *edit... since that part pops off, I think it's easy enough to provide both. Options are good! Give me a bit because I am also working on a couple other small edits :)

Dan Perovich

Is anyone else having a bed adhesion issue with the curved version of the body? Printing at 75% and both arms keep losing bed adhesion within the first hour or two, even when using a textured plate with plenty of glue stick. After three failed attempts, going to try a brim.

Vogel 3D Crafts

Love it! Any plans to make a version with hollow eye sockets?

Paul Simister

My 75% failed same way. Was using silk which is always a bit twitchy on fine models.

Todd Sipala

I printed one at 100% and one at 150% Both came out perfect I'm really LOVIN this model My Fave so far since joining

Ginney Davison

Just finished printing this. It reminds of of Rexie from night at the museum!! Absolutely love the design!

Bryan Birkhead

I love this, i finished printing it out yesterday, parts and all, this was an awesome release. I hope this becomes a series of Dinos ;)

Dan

The curved version is really for scaling larger. You may try the disappearing purple stick too, but with that no textured plate. I have a couple brands of silk that I don't use on smaller prints that have terrible adhesion. But I tested all to 50% and the parts are tiny.

JACKPOT 3D CREATIONS

This my new favorite I agree hopefully a skeleton dinosaur series

Dan Perovich

Yup...was silk for me too. I got a successful print with silk at 75% when I used a brim. Yay!

Lukáš Kreissl

tak to je top. úžasné. moc se mi líbí. jen jsem mu přidal černé oční bulvy a je to můj oblíbenec. super práce.

Corey Serrins

At both 50% and 75% the part on the body that helps hold the head broke off on the right side of the T-Rex (left side if looking at it).

Chris Gilroy

No problems printing at 75% with PLA+

Dan

Just about to post and update.

CWP 3D

I know not everyone has the same tastes, but to me I love it without the eyes!

Jason Kimball

Hi. So great model. One question. Whenever I load the .3mf file on Bambu Studio (I have a X1 Carbon) and proceed to slice it, I always get this warning: "It seems object Flexi Factory Skeleton T-Rex Body_Curved.stl has floating regions. Please re-orient the objet or enable support generation". Do I must ignore this?

Michael Blyth

Ditto this question, using Bambu version - Straight or Curved, upon a X1 Carbon. Adding supports would be around the eyes, bottom toes, and between the backbone. I had it set up 0.12mm (fine print), but I think it might need to be 0.16mm (optimized) or 0.20mm (standard)? EDIT: 0.16mm appears to be fine for removing the warning. Yet the mentioned 15% infill, 3 walls, .12 layer height, is that for the standard size on X1 Carbon or another scale perhaps?

Dan

Yep, you can ignore it unless you accidentally rotated it or did a change with the model. Some slicers feel like supports are needed, when they are not.

Dan

I print .12 at all sizes in single color. For multi I use .16. I promise it does not need supports. On any machine and likely for any size. I test between 50% and 150%. But I cannot imagine larger or smaller would change the way it prints.

bui buiking

Where is this model? I can't find the model.

Ron Wick

I printed the t rex at 200% no issues. Wish I could add a picture

Dan

Unfortunately, limited here on this site. But you can email to flexifactory@gmail.com or add photos on the Flexi Factory Private Discord ;)
