Hello!!! 🤗

Feeling like I am on a holiday right now with these references! The sign illustration isn't my favourite, because I messed up the letters, but that's okay too! It can't always be perfect 🤗

Below, you will find my base layers and final illustrations, together with the materials I used.

Base layers ✨

For this week's references, I used the following Tombow brush pens as a base layer:

Ecoline 374 (Pink Beige)

Tombow 991 (Light Ocre)

Tombow 912 (Pale Cherry)

Tombow 126 (Light olive)

For the palm trees, I used light olive and a bit of light ocre to create a sun-kissed feeling.

For the starfish, only a base layer of pink beige was needed! You can see I already created a bit of depth with the brush pen by adding a second layer in some spots.

For the parasol, I could have tried to make the sides of the parasol a bit lighter, but I already pressed a little bit too hard when drawing this base layer...

Final illustrations ✨

For the second layer, I used the following Faber-Castell pencils:

Faber-Castell 157 (Dark Indigo)

Faber-Castell 165 (Juniper Green)

Faber-Castell 188 (Sanguine)

Faber-Castell 283 (Burnt Siena)

Faber-Castell 226 (Alizarin Crimson) NEW

Faber-Castell 278 (Chrome Oxide Green) NEW

For the palm tree, I used the chrome oxide green this time for more depth. I definitely think this looks great, and I am a big fan of this colour!

For the starfish I used my new colour, Alizarin Crimson (doesn't it sound like a harry potter villain's name???) and to add more depth I used my dark indigo pencil!

For the sign, I forgot to take a photo of the base layer: Only Ecoline pink beige. For the rest, I used dark indigo and burnt sienna. I added some pale cherry in the end!

I wish you all lots of fun with these references, and don't hesitate to show your illustrations in the group chat🤗
