Spook’s Progress Posting #22 – An Extra Slice of Wildness (Patreon)
Content
Hey-hey wild ones and lady lovers! It feels like a while since we’ve had ourselves a post’em’up, but it’s not been all that long, can you believe. Last week we had ourselves a whole new release of good stuffs and I’m thrilled that so far it’s been much loved. Well, I’m not quite done with v0.26 just yet, so let’s talk all about that and the December ahead of us.
There’s not much time left in 2025, not enough time to have ourselves a full release of new goodness, but I’m not sitting around and twiddling thumbs. Been too much of that already in the past. Instead I’ve been working on a v0.26.1, already on it’s way with some updated polish, as I grasp a rare chance to halt, take a breath and make some time for the things that there never seems to be time for, for once. You’re going to like some of them, I’m sure.
I’ll dig into that a little lower down as I explain what I’ve been using this last week for, but that’s just the beginning of things. I want this v0.26.1 to go out as the Brave release in just a week’s time, leaving 2 more full work weeks in 2025 to fill up with progress. For those that don’t know, Christmas time is the only prolonged time off in the year I take, the 2 weeks encompassing Christmas and New Years when the rest of the world shuts down for a time itself, this year falling from Dec 19th to Jan 2nd. Usually however, the first couple of weeks into the new year would be a winding up of sorts, as for in Unshi’s home of Catalonia the real festive time of year when all get together is not Dec 25th but Jan 6th, the 12th day of Christmas and the Feast of the Magi. While he's AFK for that, normally I’d use this time to plan out the year ahead’s Road Maps and ready up for the Team Birthday on Jan 20th (coming up on our 10th in just a few weeks can you believe!). Not this year, though. I’ve decided instead to use the weeks before the break to do the admin and planning for 2026. This is partly because I’d like to avoid a start, stop and start in creating the next version, and also because our Content Poll for the next version is still running a few weeks and it’s a tight horserace. We’ve already had 1 change in leader and there’s still but a vote in it, so waiting for the polls to close before we break ground is the smart thing to do.
For the 2 weeks between the Brave and the Bold release I’ll be working on a batch of fun concepts for all the holidays: Christmas, New Years, and the team Birthday, plus the Handover to kick off the next NTR version soon into 2026. I’d like to make doubles for each, as they are public holidays to share with the world, but I’d very much like the beWildernauts to get a little something exclusive for each occasion for their support too. Between those concepts, I’ll get the Roadmaps planned and penned on paper for sharing around our birthday in mid-January as we like to do, and maybe a little something more if the starts align. I’ll also fulfill the promise of Progress Post #17 here, and give you fans big posting deep dive into the state of NTR’s gameplay, which was overwhelmingly voted for, as a solid primer before we talk about what 2026’s Map will entail for us all in January.
So yes indeed, a busy-busy couple of weeks for December, even if things seem a little quiet. My ultimate goal is to get the art and admin that comes with the change of the year out of the way so that come the first week of 2026 I can get the wheels rolling on the next version and get back to blazing the trail with plenty more versions into 2026 after making a good showing of 2025 (if I may say so myself).
Ah, but enough about admin talk for now! Let’s talk shiny new sweetness and v0.26.1!
[From This Point On, Beware of Potential SPOILERS]
---
So first things first about this week’s work, last Sunday there was a reported bug in the last version which was promptly patched. The pointer that would cue up the end of the game once time ran out for True Mode players wasn’t set right, pointing to Noemi’s new Hotel Pennsylvania scene of the version, then freezing the game or looping. If this has happened to you, there’s been a new version up since Sunday night, grab it on the Daring release. If you downloaded the game from there after Sunday evening, then you should be alright, but this fix will be included in v0.26.1 naturally.
Then next big thing, something new to us all, is I’ve expanded the Save/Load Menu in NTR to expand the amount of slots. At long last, eh? Now the game can handle 32 slots, more than enough to hold save a playthrough for all the major paths and then some. Between that and the Gallery, there shouldn’t be need for more, but if there ever is, we can make that change with ease in the future. Take a look for yourselves!
It’s a small put impactful alteration that should make for a better play experience. It’s been a long time coming most because I wanted, still would like to someday perhaps, to port over the system build for AoH. That UI was expanded to allow for 99 slots, plus a path explorer to allow for more saves elsewhere on your device, plus a nice window to expound on the paths taken in that save. I’d love that for NTR, but to do it would take a full reskinning of all the UI includes. I’m much more a coder and a writer than an artist, despite recent efforts, and UI is still my weakest area. Though some time to upskill would be good, there’s still so, so much to do for NTR that it’s not the best use of my time. Maybe someday we’ll have a better artist or the funds to commission some improvements that will see the whole Save/Load overhauled. For now though, I got us the functionality for more Saving without breaking anything or throwing off the flow of production, so that’s pretty good. Enjoy all the new space coming to a Save Screen near you!
What else is coming in v0.26.1, then? A lot of the other improvements are UI/Resolution related, and others are in polishing some CGs that have been on my radar. I spoke before about altering some of Kriem’s gameplays to make sure she has the right (or more accurately, not the wrong) drum set so as to not conflict with her story’s past and future. Turns out there’s no more of those that need altering on second look, but there are some CGs, like her Lv2 Resting outcome that shows her old model with hard rimmed areolas, that could use a clean up. Others include some Asana images with lights causing issues with her hair in Luna’s club. I’d like to clean these up among other things. Also on the list are some of the portraits I’ve added to the game in recent versions, which I’ve yet to be able to match the style already in game leaving them to stick out like sore thumbs. I likely wont ever be able to perfectly match Unshi’s set, as 2 artists will always have some differences in style and skill, but I can make a few of mine better and more consistent while I have the brief window for it.
Aside from clean up and visual fixes, there is a little more to get excited about, some new content. Thought there’s not enough time for a whole new scene nor is it a good idea to leapfrog the ongoing voting, there is still room to add new batches of gameplays in v0.26.1, at least 9 new Outcomes, and if I can squeeze it, another 4 or 8 included on top of that. The higher a base of gameplay coverage we can get to before next year’s Roadmapping the better for us all. We’ll see new and lewd Rest Outcomes for Kriem, Frankie and Kelsey, Lv1-3, thereby filling in all the minimum content for that silo of the gameplay. Hooray!
Here's a cheeky look at one of them to whet the appetites!
So an Expanded Save/Load System, a bevy of UI+CG fixes and a big batch of all new Gameplay Content to come in v0.26.1, in just a week’s time. Not a bad use of the last scraps of time in year, huh?
Misc News
I’ve mentioned it before but I’ll mention it again: Our first content choice poll is up and running, and it’s a tight race. Open to all Daring and Brave fans until Dec 19th, any voice out there could be the decider of which content comes to us next in the early weeks of 2026. If you haven’t already, be sure to vote. It’s already getting exciting!
The Week Ahead
The week ahead will be more work on v0.26.1. I’ve already got the main things set and ready, but some UI/CG polish still remains and there’s still a chance at squeezing in a few extra gameplays for the restaurant too. I’ll be working on getting that all good and release ready for next Friday, the on to the Concepts and Admin work early if I get there before the week’s end.
So that was the week that was #22! It’s nice to have a moment to step back and take stock, as well as finally cross off some of those little things that bug me during my playtesting each version. A moment to make what good NTR stuffs we have even better is worth it once a year, but we’ll be back to chugging ahead in no time. Until then…
Be a beautiful as that butt-erfly and beWilder!
