Industrious Chapter 11! (Patreon)

Upon consideration, I think I'm going to start splitting up chapters into groups of ten, just in case it's causing a freak error in some documents.

Anyway!  Here's the next chapter of Industrious!  I put a rush on it since I've had so many new people show up just for it and there was a cliffhanger out.  So it seems the right thing to do here.

Satsuki vs. Kota, Three Matches, Go!

Edit: Also, to avoid confusion, I've changed the links to all of the old Industrious chapters so they go to the Copy document now, because one or two new patrons were having trouble with the old links.

Chapter 11: I clenched my fists so hard each knuckle popped in sequence as I stared at Obito, my eyes tracking him off to my right side and my face blank. The obvious answer to his thrown gauntlet was to refuse.

These fights in front of several influential and highly ranked ninjas might work counter to Kota's interests here. If his talents get widely enough known, he might just unilaterally get voluntold to reenroll into the Academy, as Itachi worried about Fugaku forcing the issue if he discovered the breadth of Kota's skills. Though on the flip side, *because* of that attention, his early calculus of getting relegated to the Legion of Mediocre Ninja/Genin Corps would never happen. He would be basically assured a place on a Three Man Squad with a jounin instructor as someone known to have a lot of talent.

Yeah, could certainly see him getting "Volun-told" to re-enroll in the ninja school after pulling this..... If I was a more cynical man then I could see these last few chapters with Satsuki and Naruko leading to them being put in a 3-man team... probably under Obito lol.

Yup, someone on QQ mentioned offhandedly that chapters 7-11 were already written on Patreon. Then there was me all like "Shut up and TAKE MY MONEY!!!".

What is the usual schedule of your chapters?

Most popular work per month gets focus, at least on chapter a week. I’ll either do another chapter of the popular project or dip into the runners up after that. Expect 2/3 updates per week total.

So what technique do you guys think Kota is going to request? It almost certainly has to be something useful but low-cost otherwise he wouldn't be able to use it. Slayer a couple of questions: 1. Does Kota already have access to tree walking/water walking having taken Chakra Control as a skill? 2. How small is his chakra pool compared to someone like say, genin exam canon Sakura as a bench mark?

1) Kota already knows how to tree walk/water walk, he'd figured it out before he even took a rank in chakra control, he just hasn't really used it or displayed the ability. 2) His chakra pool is about one-third as large as canon Sakura's was at the time of the genin exam.

That second part is actually interesting. Given Satsuki and the others of what would've been his class year aren't set to graduate for a while (not even twelve yet) and Kota is grinding the least productive exercise to grow his chakra pool - spinning leaf takes very little energy compared to tree walk - it sounds like if he would work at it a bit harder he absolutely could get to academy graduate minimum in 12 to 16 months based on where he is.

Next chapter will feature a conversation with Obito, some of Kota's backstory that hasn't come up, and his initial meeting with Yakumo about training. The backstory part in particular will offer insight as to a bigger reason why Kota doesn't want to be a ninja.
