Yesterday was my birthday and what a fantastic birthday present it was to see that we reached the 100 Patron goal that I set! Thank you all very, very much.

I'm super-excited to achieve this goal, since it allows me introduce a new Patron tier! Unlike, the Fantastic Ferret+ tier (which was something I hadn't planned on but a few people specifically requested), this tier was something I had in mind since the very beginning.

~~Playtester Tier~~

With (more than) 100 people currently a part of this community, I'm confident that we have enough people to make one (or more) decent sized gaming groups. Every month, I want to DM a one-shot for some of my amazing Patrons, either to playtest upcoming material (the Cogs adventure, in particular, is coming along very nicely) or to show off some of the wonderful content currently on DMs Guild. But more than anything, it's a chance to have fun and play this amazing game together!

So why haven't I made that tier available yet? Well, I since this tier requires enough people interested to make a group, I want to see how many of my Patrons are interested. The last thing I want is for only 1-2 people to sign up for this tier and get charged for it... only to find that we don't have enough people to make a proper gaming group.

🧤 So I am asking you once again for your input:

❓Are you interested in joining the Playtester tier❓

This tier would be set at $15/month and include everything from the Fantastic Ferret+ tier and down (sticker, postcards, mapmaking livestreams, variant maps, and adventures). On top of that, members would have access to an exclusive Discord server (as soon as that's set up) and I'll DM one (or more, depending on the month) 4-5 hour one-shot adventures with you. If that gaming session involves playtesting upcoming material, you'll have your name listed as an official playtester in the credits.

*Edit: The one-shots would happen on the last Thursday and/or Sunday of every month, starting at 4pm PST

Would you make this available to those who signed up for the "Fast Ferret" tier, for no additional cost? I understand how that might not be reasonable, just curious.

I don’t think so. That is, potentially, a lot of gaming groups which would take a lot of time to manage, without any additional income. That said, if someone decides to transition from Fast Ferret to Playtester, I’ll look into a way to extend that $1/month discount over to their new subscription.

I’m open to it, even at the price indicated, but the schedule, and nature of the one shots matter (Eg, are we doing level 1 one shots, or level 10/20, or a range/ variety. So, my answer is yes, but it depends on a lot of other factors.

I would be more interested in paying a 1 time fee to take part in a 1shot. I can't commit to a monthly subscription at that level, and don't always have free time, but I would sign up for a group when I'm available and pay a reasonable fee.

It would be various one-shots or different levels, depending on what’s coming down the creative pipeline. I imagine a lot would be in Eberron, but the occasional one might be somewhere else. (spoiler: I may be in the first stages of designing a unique campaign setting that’ll be launched later this year) As for schedule, yeah, I’ll actually select a couple dates and update the post. That way people will know whether or not they even *can* sign up for playtesting, or if it will conflict with their existing schedules. Lol, as always with gaming, the hardest part is the logistics of getting everyone to the table.

Interesting... I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll look into that (and how to do it in a way that complies with Patreon’s user agreement)

My wife is also interested, although I'm not sure we could afford $30 a month. I'm definitely down for $15 though.

$30 would be a bit much, especially because you don't get any value out of redundant content from the other tiers (maps and adventures and whatnot). I would say that should be fine, but perhaps if your wife joins in at the regular $2 tier. That would be a total of $17 for the two of you. Would that sound okay?

I'm sure that's manageable. We will wait to see how many pledges you get. Don't want to overwhelm you.
