“Living in the city every day, it can all start to feel so effortless and natural, like Sharn just happens. But one quick trip to the Cogs is a reminder of all that it takes to keep the city going: how people live, work, and survive there every day and, without them, the entire city would come to a screeching halt…”

Today we release the full mega-map of The Cogs. This map comes in at 66x78 and features every map we've released this month combined.

There are 4 map variants for The Cogs, including radioactive fallout, classic dungeon style, and two different manifest zones: an invasion from the Realm of Ice and an invasion from the Faerie Court.

CLICK HERE to download all variants of The Cogs. (Please note: even zipped, this is a large file, so be prepared for it to take some time to completely download)

Next month, we go to the Mournland, where battlefields shaped by a century of warfare now sit quiet and empty, still haunted by the events of the Mourning.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Ferret Foundry these first few months. It’s because of you that I can continue doing what I love and adding to this wonderful hobby. If you have a spare dollar or two, please consider trying out the new Fantastic Ferret PLUS tier that’s now available. When you sign up, you’ll receive a thank you sticker and postcard in the mail, get access to the mapmaking livestreams I’ll be starting in February, and you’ll genuinely help me make Ferret Foundry a sustainable endeavor.

Again, thank you all very much and I’ll see you again next month.

Enjoy!

Hello! New patron here and wanted to say I joined specifically for this map set - it is breathtaking! One question - has the VTT version of this set been made available?

Sean Evoy

I just wanted to add my voice to those who have praised your work already. These are very creative and clever maps. I have already put the Cogs into use in my campaign. One question: these seem like they were created in Dungeondraft, which I rely on. One of the benefits of DD is that you can export the maps to a VTT, like Foundry, and the walls and lights are preserved. If you are reluctant to make the DD file available directly, I wonder if you would consider making an exported universal VTT file available, in addition to the PNG files.

Ferret Foundry

I'll play around with that. Since I play my home games on Tabletop Simulator, I haven't had the need for VTT files and want to make sure I can make them correctly. The other trick there is the fact that I use a lot of invisible walls to mold/shape lighting, which does mean that I'd have to figure out how to keep the lighting and color effects without those walls.

Ferret Foundry

That's a lot of words to say, "I'll work on that, definitely."

Sean Evoy

Thanks for considering it. The maps are great as they are but that would be a nice plus.

I second the praise for your maps, and I also second the question for VTT-ready maps. Especially for the huge combined maps, it's a PITA to manually add all walls afterwards, but it should be rather trivial for you to implement while creating the map (I guess it's not that trivial for you to do on existing maps, but for upcoming maps it shouldn't be too difficult to implement it from the start). I easily would double my pledge for maps with Foundry VTT support.

Ferret Foundry

Noted. Thanks for the feedback. I’m gonna take that into consideration.

Aaron Akister

I would also pay for a higher tier for VTT ready maps!
