I completely did not get what this movie was going for back when they played it for us in middle school but I think I would like it more now

I can’t wait to watch along with my VHS copy

I freaking love this movie. I know a lot of people hate on it. But I find the soundtrack amazing and it is a visual masterpiece in my opinion. They did make us watch this in middle school as well and just remember being fascinated even though some of the dialogue went over my head back then. Can't wait to watch tomorrow when I'm back from my work trip!! 😁

this was the first film i got to see with friends unchaperoned, and it was the start of my love of films and soundtracks, and wanting to be a musician specifically for film scores.

In 2021, one of the Coen Brothers directed a macbeth adaptation starring Denzel Washington. It's called "The tragedy of Macbeth" hopefully you'll consider putting it in one of your polls 😁

Finally watching now!! So glad you are enjoying this!! Yes the editing is spectacular!! Baz Luhrmann (the director) also directed Elvis.. and the editing in that was amazing as well!! Man I haven't watched this in a while!! Really enjoying it!! Well gotta get back to the reaction!! ✌️🙏😁

Had to subscribe to watch this whole reaction. I love this movie. It was very impactful to see in the cinema at 16 years old. I don’t think I went to a party in high school without the soundtrack CD being played. This is the middle film in Baz Luhrmann’s Red Curtain trilogy. With Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge providing the bookends. It’s a trilogy in the same way the cornetto trilogy is a trilogy and the middle movie in that series has an extended Romeo and Juliet sequence the references this movie.
