Getting right into the mix with Season 2 of Mr. Robot! I'm so hyped and excited to dive back into this world. The atmosphere, the music, characters, and themes are so damn entertaining to think over and watch unfold. Let's get right into it!

Gonna be taking a week off for Season 3!

Oh my goodness we are blessed! My Friday has been made.

😍😍😍

Linda

Love that wailing sax in Night Train as Angela takes that long, Miller's Crossing ride to...you know. 😎

You sound exactly the same as normal lol. Joanna is crazy, she was enjoying getting the stuffing knocked out of her, if you gave her a Rabbit and a few hours alone time she wouldn't have enjoyed herself as much as she did there, seriously, talk about masochism, off the charts. Yay s3, where Mr Robot starts to get good ;)

Linda

Mr. Robot isn't really sci fi to me. It's more techno/psychological thriller.

Linda

Taking a deep breath... all things considered, in the aggregate, Mr. Robot is deeper, more creative, mindbending, entertaining than any show I've seen in the past 10 years. There. I said it. It is an underrated, underappreciated fucking masterpiece. Ahh...that felt good. 😁

One thing I really liked when I rewatched season 2 was the building crumbling when Elliot was dreaming of the world he wants to fight for. It foreshadows the whole plan it’s crazy I love this show so much and I am so happy ur watching it. Can’t wait to see ur reactions to season 3-4!

Kara

James, I need you to know how fast I watch these reactions. It's insane, I slam play and have nothing else to watch the rest of the weekend 😭 This is going to sound ridiculous, But S3 and S4 are EVEN BETTER!!! It's hard to say which is the best, but the show is like Better Call Saul - every season is interesting and builds on what came before. 2 part opener next week, lets go! I am once again shouting out Mac Quayle, the goat, for scoring all 4 seasons. Mr Robot is Sam Esmail's baby, but its a team effort and Mac Quayle's music is unforgettable. All volumes on Spotify too!

Matt

I love this show so much, hope your getting better James stay healthy and stay hydrated because Mr Robot is just getting started

Two soundtrack easter-eggs in ep9; 1. the track playing when we first see Angela in the back of the van, is the instrumental jazz song played by the band in the prom scene opening in "Back To The Future" (&BTTF part two). 2. final EXT scene of ep, while Elliot and Tyrell are exposed on the street in that clean predawn diffused light, you can hear "Earth Angel" gradually rising in volume, which was also played by the same band in "BTTF1&2" The time travelling franchise that Angela & Elliot bond over.

Mr. Robot is a show that I watched twice before watching Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul for the first time, so our experiences were reversed. All fantastic shows with great storytelling, but Mr. Robot often gets passed on. I love the scene in the finale that we had already seen in Season 1, that was first with Mr. Robot and Tyrell in the SUV, but now we see Elliot's body with the Mr. Robot personality for the first time. During my first watch, my brain had a tell of a time understanding that everyone who interacts with the Mr. Robot personality are still seeing Elliot. So that scene was a real treat for me because we could finally see what everyone else was. Rami Malek did a fantastic job at showing Christian Slater's cadence in his voice and body language. I have pulled up both scenes to watch back-to-back to compare and it's so good. I just recently watched this for a 3rd time and while I was in S4 of that rewatch was when you announced you were going to be reacting to it. So now here with you is my 4th! I am still noticing small details and connections. The dialogue hits so much harder in so many scenes in all seasons when you know the story, start to end, really well. I think it will always be my #1 show. Your commentary and thoughts have been a lot of fun. I'm so excited for the back half of this story and there are 4 episodes in particular through S3 and S4 that I can't wait to see what you think. I will leave another comment then! Thanks so much for these videos and your work to get them out for us. 😊

I noticed the score that plays in a couple of scenes sounded familiar to the score in the film Whiplash, looked up both soundtracks and found "1.8_1-imcrazy.aiff" by Mac Quayle is almost the same as "Dismissed" by Justin Hurwitz, so strange but cool

Matt

That scene in the room with the fish tank has strong Twin Peaks vibes, I love it

What's funny about the songs that were used in episode 11, All four songs were also used in Back to the Future(1985). Night Train by Marvin Berry and the Starlighters This song plays while Angela is being driven to the house by the two people. In BTTF, this song plays during the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. The Ballad Of Davy Crockett by Fess Parker This song is playing when the van pulls into the garage. In BTTF, this song plays when Marty first enters the diner in 1955 and is playing on the Jukebox. Time Bomb Town by Lindsey Buckingham This song is playing when Elliot gets into the taxi and Tyrell gets in with him. In BTTF, the song is playing on Marty's alarm clock when Doc Brown calls him and tells him to come to the mall. Earth Angel by Marvin Berry and the Starlighters This song plays while Elliot gets out of the Taxi with Tyrell to the end of the episode. In BTTF, this song plays when Marty is being erased from existence, and eventually his parents kiss and he is restored. Don't know what the first 3 songs mean, but my theory on the last one, is about his memory about Tyrell nearly being erased from Elliot, but its the moment it all come back to him.
