Oh no I don't know if I'm ready for Aftersun this soon, or ever again! It's amazing tho

Kaitlin

Have tissues on standby for Aftersun. I was not expecting it to hit me that hard.

The Parent Trap The original and remake are equally good.

AnxiousSky

I suspect you will be blown away by Aftersun. The filmmaking craft on display is incredibly impressive yet reserved. It is a slow burn that festers on emotions through its aesthetics.

How did marriage story not win it has more votes? Maybe it didn’t when you selected movies

Kara

Surprised Past Lives dropped to 3rd but Aftersun is legit a great movie so im not mad. Would be fun to see James react to it sometime though

Matt

Aftersun is such a subtle masterpiece, seen it 4 times and have cried every time, it just hits different 📹 😢

Kaitlin

Just FYI James, Aftersun isn’t a romance. It’s a drama.

Matt

Drive My Car 2021 is a beautiful Japanese romance/ drama id recommend

Jennifer

I’m so excited for Aftersun. It’s such an underrated gem and I can’t wait for it to get the love it deserves.

RICHARD

James put The Notebook on the poll. You'll thank me.

Jay Davis

Since you are a filmmaker, "Swingers" should be on the list. It's a cool, funny movie written and made by Jon Favreau when he was a nobody. It put him AND Vince Vaughn on the map. It was also director Doug Liman's big breakthrough (he later directed The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow). It's just a movie every young guy should watch.

Taco Wolf

Life is Beautiful (1997) is a Drama/Romance, with some comedy thrown in. It's a LOT.

I would highly recommend Decision To Leave (2022), same director as Oldboy and The Handmaiden, it's like a Romance Thriller
