As bad as I feel for Gillie and Talita, I'm glad they're able to finally get the issue out in the open!

Hm...the Runaway was home to a group of centaurs for some time...maybe she'll find it more suited to her.

Marcus

Poor Talita... she looks like a giant puppy that's waiting to be kicked.

Love the way you indicate Gillie's visual focus shifting to Talita's hands by shifting our own there! Also. Man. There are some themes here. Bip literally being locked out of their own body and having to use janky work-arounds while only being capable of regaining access to it through the help of others. Gillie being forced to use a shitty adaptive device to communicate and connect with her friend, and also the reveal of her being a GMH early on in the comic, and needing to hide that at work. Talita interacting with her own body as inherently problematic because of being forced to live in spaces designed for bodies that aren't shaped like her own. Just. Man. Yeah. There are some layers here, and I love seeing the way they fit together and interact.

GILLIE HUG HER TELL HER ITS OK and then steal a spaceship with her of course. How else do friends proceed after working through an issue.

Sometimes you gotta feel bad to feel better. Talking things out can be painful, but I'm glad they're finally putting these thoughts and feelings out there, from both sides! (Gillie's frustration and Talita's self consciousness)

I love the framing of Gillie here as she herself is an example of a human person who physically despite being human grew up and lived in the same exact system which failed to accommodate her being a deaf, off-model, trans catgirl. Her experience while not a severe as Talitas is still one that is shared between them that both can relate to. Talita having all her life having to endure living in an environment physically not made for despite identifying as a human woman feels as if she is not worthy enough to learn human sign language as her physiology is not as compatible, she feels embarrassed for even attempting as she fears being seen as less than genuine despite being completely valid, because for all of her life she felt like she was just pretending to be human despite growing up with humans and identifies as a woman. What she doesnt know is that human sign language is very flexible that the gesture to learn it is greatly appreciated and not seen as insulting despite being suited to human physiology.

I really love the last panel, that combination of the softer, lower-opacity brushstrokes and thicker lines on Talita in the foreground to create depth is just *chef's kiss*
