You know given this book's whole deal it's a good thing I enjoy drawing hands

Dear Lord she's a geek through and through. Although thinking about it, binary should translate pretty easily through most hand morphologies.

Koguri3108

counting in binary using all of my fingers is actually kinda difficult because of how hard it is to raise the ring finger without also having to raise the pinky

JayyMission

Fuck yeah binary counting!! Curious if that is a centaur thing or a Talita thing

MomoSweetPeach

I'm not mathematically/computer-science inclinded so I'm glad I have the other comments to explain the logic of how she's counting 😅

Catherine DeJohn

Oh. Centaurs have 8 fingers in total. That's why base 8 lmfao

tobi

she's so engineer coded

Ghostpony

Learning to count in binary, the only time I was told it would be okay to flip off the teacher

Ghostpony

Also 0 and 16 seems to be same hand gesture? Shouldn't it use a second hand at that point?

Origamigryphon

It's nice to see Talita finally settling down.

Rachael

not me with my stupid human hands trying to replicate the signs irl

Styrofoam Skillet

👀 don’t worry Talita there’s only…. 1033 people who are watching you count no pressure!

Amber Miller

This is really cool! I was able to figure it out and follow it really easily :)

Thee

The only thing nerdier (I love nerds!) than making this is me drawing a diagram to figure out the logic

Nerdbird

I love her hoof fingers so much

SenGrisane

Oh the difference between 0 and 16 is where the thumbs are placed. Cool.

Timonger

Talita's little hoof nails 🥰

Cyllarus

Hmm... zero through sixteen would be a base-seventeen number system, and seventeen is a prime number, so it has no integer factors. Could that really be useful in practice?

nbarnes

I Iove how the ferociousness of Gillie's "Show me!" is demonstrated by Talita's startlement.
