setting aside my unfathomable rage at adam, i havent seen anyone mention the way the first panel’s background contributes to the atmosphere. The sudden harshness of the black, and the curved streak of grey that serves to accentuate the motion of her head (as it gets FUCKING YANKED OH MY GOD) is some subtle but genius work

It’s so frustrating to be in Talita’s position. She could easily hurt Adam, but doing so would prove that she’s less human/ more “animalistic” in a way. Sticking up for yourself means being vulnerable, against someone who WANTS to knock you down…Plus he can just say “well she yanked on ME so why’s there a double standard”.

I am in awe and admiration of Talita for not instinctively at the minimum yanking backwards or understandably pushing forward and then yanking back. - And yes, me viscreal reaction to this panel--which means, kudos to the author for touching a(nother) difficult topic!!! When I was a kid, I was taught that if "someone physically bothers you, you defend yourself". When my kids were in school and defended themselves, I got a call from the teacher, and the original harasser's parent didn't.
