I am rather conservative with spending money on equipment that is not directly related to my day-to-day work (aka in front of the computer), since I rather first gather some experience and develop a proper doctrine before I throw a few hundred bucks on something that then just collects dust.
After my latest trip to the Panzermuseum Munster, I was confident to note what worked, what didn't work and what needed an upgrade or addition.
My Sony Camera to the left lower end worked great so far, I used it since late 2016 for videos and photos. Yet, in 2018 I realized the shortcomings, first the video recording is limited to a total of 20-30 mins then the camera automatically stops (I read this is due to tax/toll reasons, because camera not camcorder). This was the reason why there a "holes" in the Chieftain Flak Tower video. I wasn't aware of this problem. As such I got me a camcorder, which also has a display to flip (highly recommended also for cameras!) this allowed me to adjust the recording the NOT visualized videos far better since I could setup it without getting behind the tripod - which was standing on a table. Additionally, when I took out my camera in the Panzermuseum and started recording the video everything was really dark. Got the camcorder out, everything fine. Big thank you here to Andrew for providing funding for the Camcorder btw. Also note the spare batteries of 2 for each. I have not even come close to run out of space, but battery power is more of an issue. As such, I use the Sony for videos under good lighting, e.g., Tank Fest 2018, I often used both cameras one on a tripod, the other freehand.
The audio devices, I got myself a zoom h1 (center), which only showed its usefulness with a lavalier microphone (clip-on mic), yet, once I started to do interviews, I noticed I need two or a lavalier mic with two inputs. At first I went with the second option, which worked out well so far, e.g., Chieftain Vienna, Chieftain Tank Fest 2018 and Panzermuseum Munster. Yet, the downside was the cable is long, thick, visible and both people are "locked" to each other. As such, I got a second zoom h1n (just the next generation). Additionally, I added 32gig sd cards to them and now will record in wav not mp3 files. Also note that I have a set of spare batteries with each one.
Furthermore in the Panzermuseum I noticed that my stuff was all over the place, water bottle, audio device, notebook, books, camera, camcorder, etc. as such I got myself a proper camera backpack with adjustable "areas", this should make future trips for more efficient, convenient and also "professional", the later one is often important for (perceived) credibility, similar to a suit.

Also, since I know did videos with the Military History Park Pivka (Slovenia), the Tank Museum at Bovington (UK) and the Panzermuseum Munster (Germany), I have now a very credible Trinity of Museums in Europe I worked with, which ideally should make any future request far easier.

Thank you everyone for supporting me!

I think this is very good and also necessary. For one is the professional impression and also you being confy, which also helps. I am used to be mobile and I am a little paranoid too, so I usually have a small kit with me at all times. I can send you some pics, recommendations or talk about it if you're interested. I am far from the recoding needs that you have. Even if I do enjoy photography, I seldom do videos. Nevertheless I have a Sony alpha 5000 from 14?,15? I have been thinking about upgrading. It has good features for video and photo and it has interchangeable lenses, which you can find at very reasonable price. Should you be interested, I'd get it real cheap for you. Also I am very pleased with the performance of the go pro. Far from a sport camera it has great features for small spaces and tricky illumination. It is also rugged.

I think I was considering a Sony Alpha at one point. I had a Lumix before and before that a powershoot. What I realized is that I barely used the Lumix, because it was just too big and clumsy for me. Thank you, I probably will never use interchangeable lenses, since that is way too much "work" for me. I got myself a cheap gopro cam, but never really used it, besides a bit of testing got it also in late 2016. Maybe at one point, it will see action again, but so far my regular camera works better.

Interesting to see your GoPro opinion. So, a regular videocorder is superior, yes?

I bought a cheap gopro clone, since I thought it would be useful getting into tanks. Yet, I realized, if I can go into a tank, I can take my regular camera with me anyway. An action cam makes only sense, if one is doing something else, e.g., fighting, sports, etc. yet, I usually don't engage in other activities. Although, Bismarck noted that for him it made sense, when he got into a turret of a WW2 bomber. In 2017 I still packed the action cam, in 2018 I think I didn't touch it once. It might see some action again for underwater shots or something, e.g., mounting it on a gun, but "regular" use is very unlikely.
