How Napoleon seduced the German Saxons

How did Napoleon seduce the Saxons? Originally, the Saxons fought against Napoleon, yet, he made them switch sides and the Army became quite loyal afterwards. Dr. Roman Töppel wrote his phd thesis on this subject, as such we should provide some plentiful insights. Some months ago, maybe a year, Brandon from the channel Brandon F read a part of a book written by a young British Officer who fought during Wellington campaign from the North of Spain to Bordeaux. And it was especially fascinating for me since the extract he chose was describing the exact region I was born and raised in a state of war. And when you go deeper you soon learn/realize what the Basque people notably had to endure from 1790 to 1814. Autonomy loss, Terror, Persecution of Catholics, Spain invasion during the wars of the first Coalition, Soult's retreat and so on. What a young Basque soldier of the Grande Armée was thinking about under a Russian or a Belgian sky? Yeah food and girls probably but beyond this? And Saxony case is SO complex and interesting. Awesome video and great topic in my opinion, unfortunately underrepresented for my own taste. Thank you sir or I should say sirs, great duo as always!

This is a perfect historical example for what Clausewitz means when he says the the will to fight and morale are not the same. The both are related and mostly correlate, but they can also differ to a large extent.
