Kenny’s flat back bump to the outside was gross and unnecessary imo. Phenomenal match that didn’t need that spot

Daniel DiFrancesco

Swerve is definitely costing Hangman the title probably

ashy elbows? you need some shea enrichener, son

Hangman swearing to not challenge for the world title if he loses does nothing for the match, in my opinion. Either you're setting up a heel turn that could be (and has already been) done far more eloquently, or you're telegraphing that MJF is going to lose. My theory is that with the Swerve turn tonight, Hangman wins at Revolution and we get Swerve "of the Dynasty era" vs Hangman for the title at Dynasty

Sarah Wagner

I’m curious to see what Swerve meant by “I needed this” after attacking Kenny after their match. Swerve got the victory so why did he “need” to attack Kenny after? The Hangman stip is kinda giving away the ending for revolution. It’s either Hangman wins or the match is going to end in DQ. We’ll see what stip MJF picks but I doubt Texas Death. I can’t wait to possibly find out in person next week in Denver. ❤️ love you guys. Wouldn’t be watching AEW if it wasn’t for you.

Swerve turning mid-match was perfect, and completely unexpected, at least to me. Can see this connecting with Hangman's stip so that Hangman wins, and then has the feud with Swerve reignited.

Justin Cubbage

Clearly Swerve is going to screw Hangman, but that will lead to Ospreay returning and Hangman winning. The only other way it could go now if Hangman loses is a full Brand Split, which they have MORE than enough belts for, but, why do what the competition does?

Amomantra94

I called the Swerve turn as soon as he stated in the opening that he needs this. Gave me Steve Austin pre-Mania X-Seven vibes! Also, just for future reference as you read out my comment last week, the username is pronounced Amo (like ammo) Mantra. It’s an album and song reference to Bring Me The Horizon.

HE WENT FULL CODY YOU NEVER GO FULL CODY

Figment

I was there live for this show! Got to meet Danielson & Mox before the show. Show itself was pretty good. Confusing bit at the end though. Since we didn't have commentary we had no idea why Swerve seemingly turned heel. Also AEW is now selling mini titles! I got one.

Could the reason Roddy keeps bailing on Cassidy be that he’s mad Cassidy has been feuding with his wife?

Callum Lucas

Hangman has proven twice that he’s one of the easiest characters for a company to push towards the world title and for the fans to organically get behind him. Giving him this stipulation is so weird to me. It’s good heat for MJF, but no hangman around the world title again feels wrong!

Brxdley.h

Hangman having the Cody stip is crazy to me. They saw how badly it affected Cody, so it either means he’s dethroning MJF too early, or he’ll be relegated out of the main title picture. Both options are stupid to me. The Texas Deathmatch screams interference so i’m scared to think Hangman will lose. He’s such an easy character and they just can’t get it right

Jamie Fisher

Might be a silly stipulation of never challenging again if he loses but bah gawd I'm in.

Gage Rosenow

It feels like they’re setting up a heel Swerve vs Hangman for the world title going forward which I’m always in for. However I do worry about having this stipulation for Hangman. I feel like there’s still a lot of mileage for Max as champion so while I’m intrigued to see where this goes I don’t love the stipulation

Vault-Tec Doormamu

While I understand that Tony khan seems to book shows specifically to make me sad, making it so Hangman can never challenge again if he loses doesn’t make me sad. It makes me disappointed that we haven’t learned from Cody’s stip years ago. It makes Hangman look stupid that he’s risking this when he had a guaranteed shot and I just hope max has something to go do so we can just write him off tv for a bit and do Hangman/Swerve again.

Tom Daniels

I don't hate the Hangman stipulation imo. If he loses, then it does freshen up the world title picture. I'm kinda bored of Hangman in the world title picture. I'd also hope that when they do put him in the title picture again it'll be a heel turn

james knight

I loved the hangman mjf promo segment but I dont think they should do Texas death they're in danger of overdoing that stip, I think mjf should come back and offer a dog collar match as he has experience in that match with someone hangman couldn't beat

David Kleberg IV

The difference between when Cody lost his shot at becoming champ and Hangman’s is that Page has already been champion. It’ll be easier to stomach if he loses seeing as he’s already been to the mountaintop. After awhile, Cody was completely adrift, being unable to truly become the standard bearer of the company he created.

ebearie

i do think the character beat of hangman being willing to do anything to get the title is consistent with his choice to put his ability to challenge for the title again. at the same time i don’t really think he will never challenge for it again if he loses because of that same trait. amazing episode of dynamite and im glad to see multiple women on this show since my usual complaint with aew is not taking their women’s division seriously. in jan of the 18-20 something hours of tv, the women made up only 1.5 of it so with the reports that TK is looking to spice up the division this looks like a step in the right direction !

Rey Villegas

I loved this episode! The wrestling and story telling were top notch and everyone feels like they’re on their a-game. It’s felt like that for me since Willow won the tbs title. Just wish the women got more of a story to sink their teeth into

Lawson Douvier

I’m hesitant about the “No More Title Shots” stip, but AEW has earned enough good will with me that I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and see where they go. They definitely saw the reaction to Cody’s stipulation. Omega v Swerve is an early and strong MOTY contender. That 4-way was incredible and I thought Megan Bayne might take it, honestly.

Alex Frye

I loved the MJF Hangman segment… until the “can’t challenge ever again” stipulation came up. Up until that point, I was captivated. I loved MJF running down Hangman. I was in awe and shocked when Hangman said he had never met someone so much like himself in MJF. But to me the no title shot is a lose lose situation. MJF shouldn’t lose the title this soon. But Hangman needs to challenge for the title. My mind immediately started thinking about how horribly this went last time with Cody and it took me out of the segment completely. There’s a few ways to salvage this, some a bit convoluted. But I hope they can course correct and figure it out before it’s too late

BlackYakuzu94

Hangman bro, never go full Cody. Even Cody will tell you that.

Evan

I don't get why people are so upset about the Hangman thing. He's obviously going to win because of what happened with Cody. It will be about the same length of Hangman's previous reign if MJF loses. Not every title reign needs to be 7 months. The scene is stacked, the belts need to be moved and this is the best time with almost 8 guys all at the top what else do you want?

Dev King

… OMG HE KILLED KENNY YOU BASTARD

B3nasaurusR3x

Isn't it funny that AEW is doing an adjustment to the WWE arrival bit, turns it into mini promos, and I love it! I swear this is something you guys fantasy booked at some point? Fine work, gentlemen

Real One's Georgie Tuffs

Another great episode, first and last, especially the last fight, was awesome. I feel we are getting so spoilt In AEW atm people are getting a bit negative on some of the show. Yes the middle was mid but fuck me I hope we can all appreciate that we are getting at least one 5 star match a week and we need to focus on that.

Tim

Post episode comment. #1. If AEW is firing on all cylinders with an increase in metrics now, just imagine what it’ll be when Ospreay, C&C, Joe, KOR & Jay White get back. Emphasis on White & Ospreay. #2. Hot take, I wouldn’t put Truth over Billy Gunn. I know it’s an overarching comparison, but Truth has been glorified comedy for the last 10 years, at least Billy has actually been lacing the boots up & not just doing 24/7 Title matches
