Yeah, it's such a shame how much the movies cut out Neville. Technically, as per the books, he's the 4th member of the core group alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione -- just not on a day-to-day basis. But that makes it all the more fun for you now, to discover all of this and learn more about him. Not to mention how much more you're going to learn about all the Marauders in this book specifically. I've no issue with you rolling your eyes at any mention of Scabbers lol. He deserves it. We know you'd have been concerned about the rat if you didn't know what he really is. I remember struggling re-reading those parts too once knowing. I think I just focused on Ron's experience instead; he doesn't know, and he cares about his pet rat. The fact you're not going into these totally blind... like yeah, obviously they changed things and there's entire characters you never got to meet or storylines completely excluded etc, yet you know certain key outcomes and twists... but I'm actually really enjoying that. It's a unique perspective and you can notice particular details that you otherwise wouldn't have, yet it can still surprise you and give tons of new content. Your comment about the chocolate from the movies being sus, then Lupin in the book literally saying he hasn't poisoned it, was hilarious timing!! I know these can be an immersive experience but wow lol. No matter what's going on, I always look forward to your next book reading. Thank you for doing what you do, and sharing all of this with us. I am SO excited to be on this whole journey with you.
