Some Context. (Patreon)

First of all I want to post this RIGHT NOW. But I will hold off, for you, my beloved Patrons. Y'all not only get the first look? You also get context.
May 31st 1381 marked The Great Uprising, Wat Tyler's Rebellion, or the Peasant's Revolt.
In England the Black Death was going on. They were losing the 100 Years War. And they were raising taxes. Not by a little, by a lot. In the span of one year the nobility tripled the (losing) war tax.
There is a lot more complexity to this but - point is - the peasants started killing the tax collectors. Then they killed the people who showed up with "royal decrees." Understanding that these decrees were made of paper, they started burning them. All of them.
You gotta understand they fucking had it.
These are angry famers sick of dying. Sick of being "legal" property (serfs) and much of the military is off losing a war. So they stormed London and issued demands.
No srsly though. They even managed to kill the Arch Bishop of Canterbury.
Anyway King George the 3rd was 14 so he didn't know what the hell to do.
And the motto for this revolt was as follows:
When Adam delve, and Eve span. Who then, was the gentleman?
In other words when Adam was working the earth, and Eve was making cloth, and there was nobody else? where were the billionaires?
...and did they wear Romphims?
The revolt as you can imagine ultimately didn't end well. But I thought as a way of tribute I'd commemorate the anniversary with some art.
Next Wednesday I'll post the art. In the evening I'll set up a bonfire.
Question is: where can I find marshmallows in the shape of medieval English nobility?
