People were theorizing about Hubbs' family, especially his dad. Well...they're  right. Dad is out of the picture ever since Hubbs was a kid, which gives his dialogue a bit more impact imo. (I'm not getting into more details at this point tho but we will get more into it by the end of the year :))

Another detail about Ellie's family is mentioned, bt to be quite honest...I haven't thought her family status really through yet, neither did me and my husband agree on anything (we both have different ideas how to handle her so for now we leave it open and see who's idea fits better into future stories. Fact is that Ellie's folks doesn't live close by)

Also..that diamond looks more like a teardrop...sorry about that :(

Ellie is not from California or Florida since she is probably still a virgin. I would suspect she is a cowgirl from Texas. Her dad was a rancher and her mom probably died when she was younger. So she doesn't understand boys, but she can take care of herself as seen in the arc about the iphones and she was not afraid to take on Clo-Chi. She is naive only because she never had a female role model and she didn't want to disappoint daddy. She wanted to prove to daddy that she could make it on her own, so she focused on school and work. Now her hormones caught up and she is a like a shark at the beach.

Nice theory :) My idea was that her parents are divorced, but both remarried. Dad lives on the East Coast with his new wife and mom on the West coast. El is caught in between and doesn’t feel like she belongs in either family. Therefore she chose to live on her own and find the perfect partner to replace the lacking family and get a her feeling of belonging somewhere back. However, my husband thinks this might be too dark and complex for Ellie (he’s also worried it could overlap too much with what we have planned for Hubbs. He’d instead think her parents should be a picture perfect couple and she’s just protected (which caused her character to be so merrily.) Not confirming either theory yet, we have to see which one will play better :)
