Three Square Meals Ch. 169 (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

Here's the first part of Chapter 169.

As I mentioned in the previous update, I decided to reorganise the battle and change the sequence of scenes so that it flowed better. As this is such an important chapter, I wanted the battle to feel suitably epic.

I'll work through the rest of the scenes, editing them so they all make sense with the new version, then paste them onto the end of this chapter.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to completely finish it before the end of the month. I've been suffering some nasty health complications recently, all related to the ongoing gallstone saga.

I am so in awe of your writing and your commitment! I was just spending some time re-reading this from the beginning -- more than 9 years ago. Your devotion to this saga is nothing short of amazing, and in fact, I am not certain there are words to express my esteem. While I might wish that you could restructure how you are compensated, which could reduce the strain you feel. I am just so astonished that you have managed to maintain your devotion to the story. Your writing style is elegant, and even the sex scenes can be compelling. I am just so gratified that you have continued writing this story, and I can only hope you will continue!

Having bullied you into giving up your job and being funded by Patreon, I feel responsible for you, especially when hard times hit. I would recommend that you alter the system to a straight monthly payment method and we get chapters as and when they are ready. This will improve the perceived delivered quality as we will not be getting half finished pieces of work. People do not seem to understand that gallbladder problems, can be very complex. It took a long time for the system to sort out my wifes Gallbladder problems, and there can be all sorts of side effects, depending on the individual patient. Those outside the UK will not understand the way our health care system works(or not) nor the costs and time that can be involved.

I feel bad for Tef's health issues, but I will drop my subscription if it changes to monthly. I am willing to pay by the chapter, but not just for living expenses. The charging by chapter provides motivation and supports pride of work, while a monthly charge has no accountability and assigns zero value to delivering chapters. I don't like the placeholders, but at least it provides a delayed accountability, and I feel it is a fair compromise of advanced payment for future delivery as an alternative to just dropping out or on-going charity. Please understand, I am not hammering Tef for not being able to work, but I also have to be responsible for my spending.

Telfer you said in your previous update that you held off posting the end of Chapter 168 until you were happy with Chapter 169. Which implies at the very least that 169 should have been mostly completed. This release of an abbreviated 169 is a major disappointment. The only thing consistent about you is your tendency to over promise and under deliver. Now with underwhelming results.

So there’s a week left in the month… and we’re still 5-1/2+ chapters behind… How long will it take to get caught up? Will that ever happen at this point? And what happens if Tefler keeps posting placeholders? Can Patreon shut this account down for mismanagement or fraud? God forbid! I love the story and want it to keep going. I just hope Tefler doesn’t ruin his Patreon account by not delivering what’s promised.
